Anamu suggested uses include for cancer and various infections.

In vitro studies indicate anamu has a cytotoxic effect on cancer cells.

Animal studies indicate immunostimulatory and anti-infective effects of anamu.

There have been no clinical studies of anamu.

Anamu is available under the following different brand and other names: apacin, apazote de zorro, aposin, calcauchin, chasser vermine, Congo Root, douvant douvant, emeruaiuma, guinea hen leaf, guinea henweed, gully root, heuvo de gato, hierba de las gallinitas, kuan, kudjuruk, lemtewei, lemuru, mal pouri, mapurit, mucura, ocano, payche, Petiveria alliacea, verbena hedionda, verveine puante, and zorillo.

• 1000-1500 mg orally twice daily or as directed by manufacturer

Warnings

This medication contains anamu. Do not take apacin, apazote de zorro, aposin, calcauchin, chasser vermine, Congo Root, douvant douvant, emeruaiuma, guinea hen leaf, guinea henweed, gully root, heuvo de gato, hierba de las gallinitas, kuan, kudjuruk, lemtewei, lemuru, mal pouri, mapurit, mucura, ocano, payche, Petiveria alliacea, verbena hedionda, verveine puante, or zorillo if you are allergic to anamu or any ingredients contained in this drug.

Keep out of reach of children. In case of overdose, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center immediately.

Pregnancy and Lactation

Do not use anamu during pregnancy. There is no information available on use of anamu while breastfeeding. Consult your doctor.
