Apaziquone

Apaziquone is currently in clinical trials for intravesical instillation post-transurethral resection of bladder tumors (post-TURBT) in patients with non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC).

Apaziquone is available under the following different brand names: Eoquin, Neoquin, and Qapzola.

Dosages of Apaziquone:

• 4 mg in 40 mL diluent

Dosage Considerations – Should be Given as Follows:

• The proposed clinical dose of apaziquone is a single 4 mg dose, administered intravesically in a volume of 40 mL (0.1 mg/mL) of diluent that is instilled into the bladder 30 minutes post-TURBT and retained in the bladder for a period of 1 hour

Side effects of Apaziquone include:

• Painful urination
• Urinary tract infection (UTI)
• Blood in urine
• Urinary frequency
• Sudden urge to urinate
• Bladder pain
• Urinary retention
• Procedural pain
• Bladder spasm

Serious side effects of Apaziquone include:

• Congestive cardiac failure
• Urinary retention
• Atrial fibrillation
• Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
• Pneumonia
• Knee replacement surgery
• Coronary artery disease
