I have experienced chest pain so the GP doctor referred me to have over two years three cardio stress test and place a 7 day heart monitor. Each time no heart issues and absolutely no A-fib reported by my cardiologist. My GP had the same type of heart monitor attached and said it revealed some A-fib. The GP doctor prescribed Eliquis. It has caused me to have fatigue, headaches and feeling lightheaded. It has created a real struggle for me to feel up to my daily swimming which I have engaged for 38 years! My doctor persists that I must take this dreaded medicine. I think my chest pain is from dehydration and nothing to do with my heart. I’m thinking about stop taking it to regain my previous self!

Eliquis was prescribed to prevent blood clots after knee revision surgery. Both knees had been previously replaced but the implant in my left knee loosened and needed to be replaced. Surgery and recovery of the knee joint were excellent but I was given Eliquis on discharge from the hospital and the next 30 days were awful. I was constantly tired, lacked energy and stamina, lacked focus, barely wanted to eat. I was told I had lost some blood during the surgery and speculated that might be the cause. I had not experienced these kinds of effects with previous surgeries. Took my last pills 2 days ago. Symptoms are gone and I’m back to my normal self. Never again! Back to baby aspirin or lovonox shots for me!

I developed a severe maculopapular rash all over my trunk, back, neck face, arms and legs. It started on day 10 after initial use. Discontinued Eliquis immediately, called cardiologist and allergist. Depomedrol x 6 days.

Started Eliquis May 2024. Background (long story short) summer 2022 took 1st Moderna vax, within week 80% paralyzed diagnosed with Guillain Barre, in hospital 8 months. Was home rehabbed for months when became very very sick, rushed back to hospital ER. Doc found clots in my legs and very serious embolism on my aorta. :( Update: I’m walking again slowly and very short distance with walker and help and after Much Rehab. Went to get CT Scan yesterday and legs look clear(!) and results from the CT Scan didn’t even mention the embolism but waiting to hear officially from Doc. I Did This, Get Up, Lose Some Weight, Stop Feeling Sorry For Yourself, But I Honestly Believe Eliquis Really Helped Me and I’m Thankful.

I had a heart ablation done about six years ago, and have been on .5 mg eliquis since then. The last several months I have had a severe chronic headache across my forehead. My heart doctor reduced the dosage to.25 mg and the headache is gone. Also, my systolic blood pressure is more stable, and has dropped from being 120 -140 to 100-110.

I take Eliquis for Atrial Fibrillation, and has been very effective without any side effects. For joint replacement surgeries, I have gone off of it only for 48 hours and then resume taking it after surgery. The downside is the outrageous US cost with my very good insurance plan. I have to travel to Mexico or Canada to get the exact same brand and pharmaceutical company for a fraction of what my cost would be after insurance. It's worth it.

I’ve been taking Eliquis for over 3years for Afib. Have not experienced noticeable symptoms. Initially it stopped the heart palpitations I was experiencing before starting the medication. At age 76, I would rather take this medication than one of the other procedures that are available for Afib.

I have taken Brillinta, (horrible), plavix( works little) and now eliquis. It’s early, but seems better than the other two.

My Primary Care Physician (PCP) after his review of my MRI notice a Mini stroke that has happen 5 years back . Immediately he switch my medication Eliquis with an OK by cardiologist, as substitute blood Thinner, to baby Aspirin. It has been known by the medical professional that Eliquis user has 99.09 % experiences no major negative side effects. Few days upon taking the Eliquis . I notice minor dizziness, legs, back pain and low Energy.. A little over a month of usage. I check in the ER for major dizziness and extreme lost of energy. Blood works-rays, EKG and the results are all normal except the sodium level are low 124. As expected I was released from the ER after given a salt Tablet. It took me six trips to the ER because the symptoms I mentioned above progressively get worst. I have to endure IV of saline salt solution on all 5 ER trips. All 5 ER think that the Eliquis has nothing to do with what is happening to me. Because it has not happen at all during there practice. The 6th ER Dr that treated me Experience the same thing, Except when I ask him about Eliquis as root cause of my problem he look on it further in the hospital private research room. There he found out that .01% experience exactly what is happening to me. Without hesitation he told me to ask my PCP to get an OK to stop taking Eliquis and switch back to baby Aspirin. Upon a conditional OK from my PCP & stop taking Eliquis, my sodium level was back to normal 136 within Days. My Conclusion: Immediate cause of my low sodium was ignored by multiple ER doctor. Root cause I was the unlucky one who have the .01% user of Eliquis with major side effects.

This medication was thrown in my lap by my PCP after my first A-fib episode, without discussing side effects. After only three doses experienced chest tightness, body aches, headache, ringing in ears, bloating/nausea, increased urine frequency, and anxiety! I'm quitting them before they have a chance to do real damage- pure poison!!

In 2020, after a cardioversion, my cardiologist put me on 5mg dose of Eliquis 2x day to prevent blood clots and stroke. Right away I noticed pinkish urine and reported it to my doctor. I have kidney stones so I guess they attributed the pinkish urine to shedding of the stones. Fast forward to 2022, on vacation out of state, I have a massive bleed, urine is merlot red and clots. Go to local hospital for a thorough exam, they recommend I stop Eliquis until I see my cardiologist/obgyn to be evaluated. I was 64 then, past menopause, ovaries intact and dormant. Kidney stones still there. So where was the bleeding coming from? Still don't know, but once I was off Eliquis, no more pinkish urine, clear as a bell. I will not go back on this drug. Called the pharmaceutical company to report it. Took my info. Never heard back.

Had an unprovoked DVT and PE - quite out of the blue as I have none of the risk factors - I suspect COVID.... I've been on Apixaban for over a year and at the start I was worried - but it's been OK. I have been snorkelling in Costa Rica and just been to Antarctica - so I'm not letting it hold me back. I've had no side affects at all, apart from some occasional increased bleeding from pre-existing haemorrhoids (a bit alarming but my doctor is unconcerned). Shaving cuts etc seem to be no worse than before. I'd rather not be on it, but I don't want another PE that's for sure!

I've been taking eliquis since December 2022, I had a dvt in hawaii while on vacation and after 2 emergency surgeries to remove the massive clot throughout my entire left leg the surgeon put me on eliquis 2x daily, going into 2024 I'm still using it. I have had no issues with eliquis at all and I have to be on it life long due to some wonderful blood mutations I found out I have genetically. I am sorry to hear that some people have had really crappy experiences with eliquis as it is a life saver for me. On top of the other things I've listed after surgery I developed venous reflux throughout my left leg which means my blood flow sucks and the leg is usually sore and veins swell often. I hope they never take this off the market especially for individuals like myself who depend on it to keep them alive now. I personally never wanna go through that scary experience ever again.. Best wishes for anyone dealing with bad side effects from eliquis, I truly hope your doctors help you find better solutions to keep you alive and well. Stay safe out there!

I've been on this for a month now and every day I feel worse than the day before. I've had severe sharp pains in the left side of my head around my temple, extremely nauseous, pain in my stomach when I touch it, hurts really bad, and severe pain in my middle lower back in kidney area, doubles me over sometime and I feel Soo weak, my arms feel heavy at times. I've never felt this feeling...I feel very unwell. Seriously, every day is worse than the day before. Calling my cardiologist tomorrow, trying to stay out of the ER

I was prescribed Eliqius due to blood clots in my left leg which is common for some cancer patients. I believe the drug is working to help with the blood clots but the dizziness and nausea is terrible. Normally I feel better after a week off chemo but it just continues now that I am on Eliqius.

I have been having crazy, vivid dreams since I started eliquis. Very troubling ones and awake unrested.
