Horrible side effects, nausea, dizziness, loss of appetite, sleep disruption, spacey

I am 50 years old and recently diagnosed with ADHD. I have been on Strattera now for 3 months. I was very surprised that I started to feel the positive effects within 2 weeks of taking it. The amount of focus I lost in my job when I was interrupted from a task was significantly reduced. Distraction reduced, anxiety reduced because I wasn't anxious from losing focus so often. I am very happy with the results. The only side effect is that it makes me very nauseous if I take it on an empty stomach, so I take it with a small amount of food in the morning.

Started as an alternative to aderall and have not been impressed. Does not seem to work for me.

I liked this medication because it helped me easy my anxiety and mood swings. I didn't see major changes in my focus but I feel it helped me overall with other symptoms. I increased the dose gradually from 40, 60, 80 and 100 mg. Unfortunately I started getting acne in my chin and around the mouth and I had to stop. My acne is not going away even with medication and lotions prescribed. I didn't know this was a side effect but be aware in case you suffer from hormonal acne.

I absolutely hated this. I took this starting from kindergarten, and I genuinely didn't know that people swallowed their own spit with it. I cannot even describe how it tastes, and it has ruined the taste of milk for me. If for some reason you take it, don't take it with water or milk. I find that juice does the best, and please take it with food, otherwise you will throw up.

This is my 3rd medication to try for ADHD. The other 2 had terrible side effects. This one is much better. I am taking 10 mg and I can wake up easier, fall asleep faster, get things done a little easier. This feels like I'm on the right path. A minor dosage increase may be needed because I am still a bit distracted, but it is an improvement from where I was. I have only been on this drug for 2 weeks. Side effects have been minor so far. Extra days of light menstrual cramping and spotting, increased sexual drive, increased energy.

Barely noticeable improvement in a few less bothersome ADHD symptoms. I mostly notice I get less distracted and go on fewer tangents when having conversations with people. I notice little improvement in organization, finishing tasks, work habits, and many of the symptoms that make life difficult. As per side effects I did have slightly elevated blood pressure and lost about 5-10% of my body weight when I first started using it. The weight came back after about 2 years of use. I did not have any other noticeable side effects.

Ok so all my life I’ve been feeling like I’m going 100 miles a minute inside. I always thought it was just anxiety. Recently, my doctor gently suggested that it could be ADHD. I started this med almost a week ago. I feel so much more peaceful inside. I’m able to slow down my thoughts, actions, and I’m able to slow down while I’m eating which has felt impossible. Usually I’m buried in my phone feeling like I’m drawn to it like a magnet. After taking this med, I feel like I can sit in peace.

I just finished week one of Strattera, and I believe I’m going to stop taking it. I definitely feel more focused, concentrated, and calm. My ability to stay on task and not let my mind race with a thousand thoughts has been great but the side affects are too much. My sexual desire has gone almost to zero and my ability to get an erection is zero. Also I cannot sleep anymore I wake up many times throughout the night with dreams/hallucinations. I dread going to sleep now because I know I won’t be able to . It did help like I mentioned, but the side affects outweigh the benefits.

I can focus on one of the 12 things I want to get done now without being scatterbrained, and it’s helped me be a lot more patient and relaxed around people and situations I’d otherwise run rampant with thoughts, so I like it. It’s made my everyday ability to live without executive dysfunction a constant too.

0/10 would not recommend to anyone. Felt like my stomach was being hooked and lit on fire. I couldn't eat, or even think about eating because my stomach hurt so bad. I got shakes and shivers from the pain that lasted for a day until the next morning. It dididn'help with wanting to do tasks or concentration. It made it worse. Brain fog. Drowsy. Then I got rash and hives. This medication is a torture and hell. .

Absolutely hate it! This med AND bupropion both made me feel shakey, sweaty, heart racing, dizzy, fuzzy headed (like I imagine how someone would feel goin into a seizure). Both meds also made me feel tingly all over my toes and hands and numbness in my lips. Note these meds were not taken together but tried at different times. I am prescribed 40mg straterra and before straterra was taking 100mg bupropion when these side effects occurred.

I used to have 4 or 5 thoughts bouncing around my brain at once and it was hard to hold onto one to focus. Now it's more like 1 or 2, and it's so much easier to function. If I don't eat before I take it, I get nauseated, and it gives me a dry mouth and reduced appetite, but I really appreciate being able to manage my ADHD better without stimulants.

I took this medication for a couple of months when I was 5 it did nothing for me, I experienced no side effects, but it also didn't help with my ADD/ADHDI (Attention deficit disorder/ Attention deficit disorder Inattentive). it felt as though I wasn't taking any medication, so my pediatrician took me off of it, and instead I did Sensory integration therapy and learned to manage my concentration with other therapies.

so i was previousely on fluoxitne, which i found worked off and on, i started to see a psychologist, and told them about my adhd and clinical depression. He suggested this "life changeing" medication to me, so i talked to my DR and started it about 2 months ago. Here is my review. My dr started me on 40mg, the first few days i felt like i got hit by a train, I was so naussus, throwing up at work and at home, my head felt like it was going to explode, and i felt like i had the flu and at night i really had to pee but it would be a trickle and then the weirdest thing happed to me, while i was peeing, i started to cum with out orgazim, it was a really weird experience and my balls hurt alot after that. so i told me Dr he thought maybe i started on to high of a dose. so i stopped taking it for about a week because i was nervose about it, but the negtive thoughts started to get bad, So I tired it again at 10 and worked my way up back to 40. now that i am back to 40 and i can say its been about a week . I cant say i feel really great. im not at all focused at work, if anything i feel more lazy, tired, My eyes are really heavy at random times ,my mood has been really bad most of the time, iv had a short fuse and get really annoyed about everything, and the negative and angry thoughts flood my brain, and iv been getting hyperfixaded on diffrent subjects like money, work, ect, and unless i eat alot of food i am in this constent state of being hangry, and then still get nasouse and for the first few house i take it, there is this pressure in my head that makes it feel like its gonna pop.. I was told you arent supposed to use this with pot at all. so I really tried to bring down my usege with pot and feel even worse. I acctully feel better in the mornings before i take this medication, I can feel my mood change from happy to miserable. I dont suggest this medication but apprently its diffrent for anyone. ( Sorry for the mispelling)

I’m still forgetting things all the time and then I’m actually just following asleep and tired nonstop out of nowhere and I have things I have to get done and can’t get anything done I’m extremely frustrated and disappointed with this medication

I received no benefits with this medication. First and foremost it gave me headaches. The worst side effect however was erectile dysfunction. I could get an erection but it only lasted a minute and went away no matter the stimulation. Needless to say my wife was also unhappy.
