What Is Berdazimer Topical and How Does It Work?

Berdazimer Topical is a prescription medication indicated for the treatment of molluscum contagiosum in adults and pediatric patients aged 1 year and older.

What Are Side Effects Associated with Using Berdazimer Topical?

Common side effects of Berdazimer Topical include:

  • pain
  • swelling
  • burning 
  • breakdown of the outer layer of the skin (erosion)
  • stinging 
  • lightening or darkening of the skin
  • redness 
  • blisters
  • itching 
  • irritation
  • peeling or flaking 
  • infection
  • itchy, dry skin rash

Serious side effects of Berdazimer Topical include:

  • application site reactions, including allergic skin reactions, 

Rare side effects of Berdazimer Topical include:

  • none 

Seek medical care or call 911 at once if you have the following serious side effects:

  • Severe headache, confusion, slurred speech, arm or leg weakness, trouble walking, coordination loss, unsteady, very stiff muscles, high fever, profuse sweating, or tremors.
  • Serious eye symptoms such as sudden vision loss, blurred vision, tunnel vision, eye pain or swelling, or seeing halos around lights.
  • Serious heart symptoms include fast, irregular, or pounding heartbeats; fluttering in the chest; shortness of breath; sudden dizziness, lightheadedness, or passing out.

What Are the Dosages of Berdazimer Topical?

Adult and pediatric dosage

Topical gel

  • 10.3%

Molluscum contagiosum

Adult and pediatric dosage

  • Apply topical gel as an even thin layer once a day to each MC lesion for up to 12 weeks
