Denise Mann is a freelance health writer in New York City. Her articles regularly appear on WebMD, Rheumawire (jointandbone.org), Woman's World magazine, Arthritis Today magazine, and special sections of the Wall Street Journal.
Mann was awarded the 2004 journalistic Achievement Award from the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery for a WebMD feature article on how to tell if plastic surgery is right for you. She has also been awarded the Arthritis Foundation's Northeast Region Prize for Online Journalism. Before joining WebMD, Mann worked for the Medical Tribune News Service for three years. Her articles appeared regularly in such newspapers as the Detroit Free Press, the Chicago Sun-Times, the Dallas Morning News, and the Los Angeles Daily News. She received a graduate degree from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill., and her undergraduate degree from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa. She lives with her husband, David, and a miniature schnauzer, Trixie.
