Elizabeth Klodas, MD, FACC, is a cardiologist in Minneapolis, where she serves as director of cardiovascular imaging at the Center for Diagnostic Imaging.

Klodas received her doctorate from the University of Toronto in Ontario, Canada. She completed a comprehensive medicine internship at Toronto General Hospital and an internal medicine residency with the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine in Rochester, Minn. Klodas also spent five years studying cardiovascular diseases during fellowships with both the Mayo Graduate School and Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore, focusing on noninvasive cardiology and echocardiography research.

Her professional interests include noninvasive cardiac imaging and valvular heart disease, but her true passion is heart disease prevention. Klodas directs the Cardiac Prevention Program at General Mills and is beginning to work with several other employer and insurance groups to create robust prevention programs in the workplace.

Klodas' professional affiliations include the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association, the American Society of Echocardiography, and the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, of which she is a founding member of the Upper Midwest Working Group. She has authored numerous scientific articles and book chapters in her field, and serves on several professional committees, including CardioSmart, the patient education initiative at the American College of Cardiology.
