Neal Barnard, M.D., is a nutrition researcher and adjunct associate professor of medicine at George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, DC, and president of the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM). PCRM is a nationwide group of physicians that promotes preventive medicine and addresses controversies in modern medicine. PCRM also conducts research studies, and education and advocacy programs on diet and health.
Barnard is the author of seven books on diet and health, including Breaking the Food Seduction: The Hidden Reasons Behind Food Cravings--And 7 Steps to End Them Naturally, Food for Life, Foods that Fight Pain, and Eat Right, Live Longer. His research has been published in The American Journal of Cardiology, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Preventive Medicine. He is also editor-in-chief of Good Medicine and the author of hundreds of articles in magazines such as Scientific American and newspapers such as The New York Times. Barnard is a regular guest on network news and talk shows and an active public speaker.
