Dr. Pamela Cekola, RD received her undergraduate degree in Nutritional Science from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California. Her dietetic internship was completed at Barnes Hospital (BJC) at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. Ms. Cekola has been a registered dietician since 1994 and has worked in many capacities including: hospital inpatient /outpatient clinical settings, patient education and medical nutrition research. Ms. Cekola has worked on numerous research grants including The Woman's Health Initiative (WHI) and The Woman's Intervention Nutrition Study (WINS), two of the largest research studies investigating the effect diet has on breast cancer diagnosis and recurrence. This research work was conducted at Harbor-UCLA Research and Education Institute and Cedars-Sinai General Clinical Research Center. Ms. Cekola is currently a member of The American Dietetic Association and has held the position of Public Relations Chair, Speakers Bureau Chair and Awards Chair with The Los Angeles District of the California Dietetic Association. Ms. Cekola's professional interests include, diabetes education, obesity reduction in both adults and children along with providing and promoting safe and effective health education.
