I decided to share my experience, taking Pylera having read these reviews before I started it feeling scared to death by what I read. I am on day 10 and I can't deny that I'm relieved that this is coming to an end. Having said that my symptoms have been manageable and I used tips from what other people had written as well as carefully reading the directions that came in the medication package. My primary problems have been queasiness and general indigestion and of course changes to poop but I think that's expected. What I found helped tremendously to reduce nausea and indigestion was to be extremely careful about what foods I eat. Always eat before taking this medication.! It is critical, no matter how not hungry you feel eat. You need to have food on your stomach for this to not wreak havoc with your stomach. I stuck to a very bland diet ,kind of what I think of as the" white food " diet, and these are not foods that I typically would eat but these are foods that are very digestible. The kinds of things that are recommended if one has diarrhea or nausea in general: white foods bread, applesauce, bananas, noodles. No raw fruit or raw vegetables absolutely no dairy and beyond dairy you need to check for calcium content in non-dairy milks, etc. because that is a problem with the absorption of the medication- calcium interferes. It would be a bummer to go through this whole process for it not to work because you've been eating foods that contain high content of calcium not realizing that that's a problem! Once I became very strict about this diet, my symptoms diminished greatly very mild or no nausea, diarrhea, greatly reduced, indigestion reduced. I hope this is helpful to other people starting this regimen. It's important to stick to it and take this and get rid of H pylori!. You can do it hang in there. You will get to the end of this and I hope for myself and everybody else this works to eradicate the H pylori.
hello, I was diagnosed with helicobacter 6 years ago and they put me on a 14-day amoxicillin treatment. Pylera probably hasn't been yet. My experience was terrible. They broke it. I have incredible diarrhea, the bitterness in my mouth is simply terrible. After a week, I went to my doctor to change my treatment, but he said that I had to. to finish and I did well for 6 years I was at peace until now I have it again they gave me pyler but after that I prepared I took 10 days off from work people laugh that I am taking time off because of antibiotics but those who have not experienced this treatment will not understand that's it hell, I bought strong probiotics and I take them every 3 hours after antibiotics and it does its job, I have dark stools, a bitter taste in my mouth, headaches and nausea, but it's much better than before when I took amoxicillin for 14 days. I'm still on day 5 I have 5, even if I don't know what happened, this medicine is good because it's worth it. Helicobacter is literally ruining my life. I'm constantly nauseous and my psyche is bad. That's the only reason I can manage 10 days. If I can advise, take a high-quality probiotic 3 hours after the pylori dose and eat before the dose. and relaxes, the main thing is calmness, I wish everyone that the treatment will help them
I took Pylera 2 times (6 capsules) and had to stop the treatment due to severe side-effects. I experienced severe nausea, horrible abdominal pain, i was shaking and had a fever, blurred and double-vision and I also became lactose intolerant during the treatment. Wouldn't recomend.
Hello This medicine destroyed my life and health. I got many side effects the key point here is that after finishing the treatment. I had muscle twitches, paralysis in neck , muscle weakness and bowel inflamated and other things during 20 days after treatment! Something happened very ackward with my organism and these pills. I visited several times the hospital. The worse was yet to come. 9th of April (23 days after finishing the pills) I got a feeling of intoxication in my body. I could sense and smell chemicals inside me. From that day I got a lot of problems with my nose, smell to chemicals were more intense, and gradually from APril to June I was loosing the capacity of sensing airflow. Can be a lot of wind I dont feel nothing in my nose, like anesthesia. I believe that toxins entered my central nervous system and this might be permanent. Im hopeless and very depressed that took this drug.
I was scared to take these antibiotics because of all the bad reviews. I took them and had no issues, really. Had a headache and light nausea in day 2 and had a sore throat for a bit because I was swallowing all three capsules at one time. Once I started swallowing one at a time with a bit of water in between, I was fine. I made sure to eat before I took them. I also didn’t drink anything while eating, but then drink a lot of water when I took the pills and throughout the day. The worst part was having to eat so much and take so many pills. I hope they come up with a better way to treat hpylori.
In short. Please stop it Its horrible. I took it for the first day (4 times a day ) and i was ok. But day 2 after the morning dose i went to the emergency. Had terrible stomach pain with the worst nausea ever. Difficulty in breathing. I felt like i was dying with dry mouth & throat and my stomach will explode.. tried to vomit many times but nothing comes out. They gave me some pain killers in ER. Went back home, took the other dosage and again after few hours went back to the Emergency! I was literally dying. They gave me some medicine that needed to be approved by psychiatrists so that they can put me into sleep. I was drugged the whole night till day 3. I have stopped the medicine. I rather have pains in the stomach than taking this !!!!! Consider twice before taking it. Still suffering from even though i have stopped it a week ago, my mouth is bitter ive got some bacterial growth in my tongue as well from this pylera antibiotic.
I'm on Third day and realise I've been taking it wrong, three times per day three pills then sleeping through the night. I had issues with my vision this morning blurry and coloury, not fun. I think I'll continue to take three pills three times per day and instead of finishing on day ten Ill take the left overs for the rest of the days. Im so sleepy and nauseous I feel hungover, but since I had Hp I felt hungover every day anyway? So it's hard to say , I know I'm not my 100% self it's a sunny Saturday afternoon and I had planned to go out but I genuinely want to go to bed and sleep , I dunno if it's causing me anxiety or of I'm just anxious about having to take it . I don't like it at all and can't wait til it's over, have bad headache too
The schedule is very difficult to follow with doses at 4 am in the morning. I only used it 3 times a day. First days were good , after that nauseated, muscle aches all over the body. And dizzy. I had to through up one day in the morning. I hope I got negative after I finish the treatment.
This has got to be the worst medication Ever the side effects are completely horrible ?? from the headaches being dizzy to the diarrhea bad muscle aches I’m on day 7 with 3days to go I been back & fourth to the hospital with bad side effects & they want me to continue
It's the worst medicine of all. Do not take it. If u do, you will regret it. It's been 6 months now since i finished my treatment and i still have a horrible reflux and fungus in my intestine because of the exaggerated dose of antibiotics. I wish i could go back in time and not take it.
I just finish yesterday the 10 days treatment ,still I have heartburn and stomachache and I felt dizzy the whole day ?is it normal?
Honestly it was hell, I just finished my 10 day therapy and I’m so glad. I had the feeling of my tongue being swollen and the glands under my tongue aswell it felt like I was having an allergic reaction which caused me to have really bad anxiety .Hope it works because i never want to take this medication again.
I came to this site to see what to expect when I started taking this medication. The reviews prepared me for a hard time, and I am thankful for some of the good advice I read about how to minimize the side effects - which I had starting around day 3 of the treatment. Stomach cramps, diarrhea, dizziness, chills, light-headed, nausea, furry tongue - I had them all. But I stayed on track and drank lots of water, took the omezeprazole with my 10a and10p doses, and finished the treatment. It is not easy, but it was worth it to me. And yes, if you weren't already losing weight due to your condition, you will lose a few more pounds while you are on this medication due to just not wanting to eat anything. But take the medication unless your doctor tells you not to!
I am on day 4 of Ulcer treatment with Pylera. Choking down 12 quite large pills per day is pretty annoying, so ease of use is poor. I have had significantly less abdominal pain in the past 2 days than the prior month, so I do believe it is working. As far as side effects, I've had dark urine and stool, and have just started having mild diarrhea and some light dizziness. I do feel generally unwell, but that's nothing new for me recently. Nothing over the top like some others have experienced as of yet.
I was fine until day 3 when I started having loose black stools, gradually becomes green to the ninth day. I think it is the color of the bacteria. On day 7, I woke up with a pounding headache, bloating and palpitations . I rushed to the ER. Later the doctor’s office called informing to continue on these combo meds for an additional 4 days. Lord help me go through it. I hope this will prove successful as it is my second line treatment.
I am now on day 7 and let me tell you… this is the worse medication I have taken… 3rd day I had so many hallucinations that I really thought I was gonna pass out…I feel tired, restless and can’t even work properly… I am usually very strong for medicine and with pain… but this got me really bad… can’t wait to get over with it… 3 more days to go ????
I promised I would come back to report if the medication was effective. Although the stool AG test made 7 weeks after completion of therapy with pylera came back positive; I am HP negative now (4 months later); had an endoscopy and another AG tool test to confirm. Still experience mild bloating and discomfort if I eat a tad too much.

I followed the instructions and it did not resolve the condition and I'm on my third 10 day therapy pack. I'm on it again but am also self treating with azithromycin since it's been shown to be more productive I eradication of the bacteria.

I am currently on my 7th days out of 14 days treatment. I have to say this is the worse experience of my life, since day one I felt nausea, loss of appetite and feeling bloated most of the time. I don’t even know how am I gonna get through another 7 days of taking those medications. I feel like i just want to rush to ER. I honestly do not wish anyone to go through those side effects.
