It doesn't work at all. I have fibromyalgia, arthritis in my knees, and severe hip and lower back pain. Ive used this patch for over two weeks along with my Percocet, and despite my hopes for it to work it doesn't. I still have my usual severe pain. Also, it's a hassle to shower with because I have to try and keep it covered with plastic wrap. I wouldn't recommend this for people who may have a naturally high tolerance for opioids

So this is the thing lol it doesn’t really work much …. It does and doesn’t and one thing I really don’t like about it is the headache and neasea it has given me… I can’t really tell if it’s working cuz I still have pain but the whole point of the pain meds was it supposed to block … your brain receptors from feeling pain. I’m on this patch and OxyCodone. Only good thing about it is that I don’t need to take a pill or have to worry about how much I took that day …. Because it’s 24/7 patch vs oh I took my 1-2 pills today can’t take anymore

These butrans patches work better than any opiate I've tried. It greatly helps my fibromyalgia, herniated discs in my neck and TMJ. I got my life back when I started these.

Used for degenerative disease of discs of my back and joints. Helped that pain. However it caused me blurred vision. Also pain and numbness down arm to my hand with numbness and tingling to my fingers and thumb. That Severe Pain woke me up at night causing me to need other meds for break through pain relief. After I stopped taking it for 5 days my vision started getting better as well as the numbness and tingling. Do to severe pain I started back taking it and the same day I put the patch on all the symptoms retuned the same night. Thumb still snaps.

My meds were working but Doctor cut me off and now the patch. Only thing it is good for is to stop desire for opiods. So far very little pain relief. Headaches, diarrhea and very lethargic. I have a muscle disease and too many problems with Back to mention. Confined to wheelchair. I have to suffer do to this opiod epidemic. Referred to a Neurologist. That is fine butt I have already seen many. It may work for some,so far I hate the way it makes you feel

Chronic pain led to Buprenorphine sublingual tablets prescription in 1992. They really helped to control pain However, I developed a tolerance and the dose increased to max of 4 tablets. Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis (PPMS), was eventually diagnosed in November 2011 which accounts for the chronic neuro pain. In June 2023 I stopped the Buprenorphine tablets completely and began Buprenorphine (Butec 20mcg) patches to renew weekly. I am amazed, and very thankful to my G.P & Neurologist for recognising the unbearable nerve pain throughout my body, which is now under control again. I felt greatly reduced pain in the first 3 weeks. It is now the 4th week and, for first time in 30 years, I'm pain free. Still early days, but so far, so good.

I suffered a spinal cord injury last year and as a result I'm a paraplegic with an incomplete injury at L3 but damage to L1-L5. After leaving hospital on 11 different medications for all the problems that come with a spinal cord injury like Gabapentin, Hydromorphone and anti-spasticity medications, nothing seemed to be able to control the nerve pain and I would be in agony constantly. While this doesn't completely solve it for me, it does reduce it by 20% and while that doesn't sound like a lot the 10/10 pain I was having in the nights is now maybe a 7-8/10. It really helps me sleep better and does a much better job on the remaining lower back pain I have from my spinal stenosis, herniated discs, and Osteoarthritis. I have now come off my Hydromorphone long acting in place of a 10mcg patch. I also like that this doesn't slow down by bowel like the oral opiates did. It was a bit of a rocky transition onto this but I'm happy I'm on it now.

I have been on Butrans for over 8 years and able to taper down to 7.5mcg. Patches are easy to put on, hold up very well and cover the pain completely. I do not experience the euphoria like that from pills and am able to work in full capacity. Best of all is I have no pain!

Was put on Butrans 10mg, did nothing, I called the mfg to inquire about how long it takes to began working? 4 days, I was asked what medication did I take prior? After informing him I was told 10mg would have never worked, my previous out powers the 10mg patch by far and to call my doctor. After speaking with her I was put on 20mg and still waiting for some type of relief.

Butrans' patches 15 removes 95% of my pains caused by spinal hernia (L3-L4); no side effects. Functional rather than in bed. Recommend highly.

You might as well just stick a band aid to u cause that’s all it is… no relief whatsoever

Comment from: Charsweb29 45-54 Transgender 1 to less than 2 years Caregiver Published: September 12

The medication help me tremendously with the pain. But it also caused me to flatten during surgery as it was mixed with anesthesia. After that I had a severe depression anxiety isolation. Memory loss. Even though I've been off the medication now for approximately 5 months, and still having the negative effects from the medication.

This medication and nerve blocks have changed my life. I was on Percocet and oxyneo for over ten years and my body grew tolerant to them. I have so many problems with my upper and lower back I was bedridden. Now I take 10mg of morphine 3 times a day and the butrams 20 patch for 7 days then change it. I was getting nerve blocks every week, now it’s every two weeks. I don’t feel foggy anymore. I can walk 2 km. And I have lost 45lbs. I’m not in bed all the time anymore.

I love this patch. Its the only medicine that has worked for me. Been on morphine and Percocet before that, it stopped working.makes me a little sleepy but it's worth it for pain relief.

Comment from: Robert 45-54 Transgender less than 1 month Caregiver Published: June 28

Comment from: Mel 45-54 Transgender 1 to 6 months Caregiver Published: June 14
