Calendula

Calendula suggested uses include as an antispasmodic, for cancers, conjunctivitis, menstrual cramps (dysmenorrhea), fever, hemorrhoids, inflammation (oral), leg ulcers, peptic ulcers, and wounds.

Calendula is effective for burn healing. Calendula is possibly effective in wound healing.

Calendula is available under the following different brand and other names: bride of the sun, Calendula officinalis, garden marigold, gold bloom, golden flower of Mary, holligold, marigold, marybud, and pot marigold.

Suggested Dosing

Tea

• 1 cup orally three times daily; 1-2 g dried flowers/150 ml water

Liquid extract

• 0.5-1 ml orally three times daily; 1:1 in 40% alcohol

Tincture

• 0.3-1.2 ml orally three times daily; 1:5 in 90% alcohol

Ointment

• Apply topically as needed

Keep out of reach of children. In case of overdose, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center immediately.
