My wife was diagnosed with Tartive Diskonesia which seemed to get worse gradually after COVID. Nobody seems to know if condition relates to Covid or not. After degrading for about a year, the worst symptoms were rocking from side to side tongue and lip movements like a lizard, stomping feet alternately, etc. Neurologist started her on Ingressa, which had no effect. Sent her to second neurologist specializing in involuntary movements. Worked up to 48 mg per day. Austedo helps about 80%, stopped mouth and tongue almost completely, stopped foot stomping 100%, rocking about 85%. Noticably worse at night, bettering morning. Complains about various pains, but don't know what is real and what is imagined.

I finished my titration kit and my doctor recommended that I go up on the strength. I am on 42 mg / 1once daily. Is this helping? Possibly. I have tremors and restlessness and at the 42 mg strength, I think we are making progress. ***One item of note. What everyone seemed to brush aside, the cost of this drug is over the top. I have great insurance coverage though Blue Cross and my first 30 days on the 42mg dose was $15,000.. please let that sink in. Also, retail pharmacies cannot dispense this. I have to go to my local mental health care facility and I can get it at the pharmacy in the hospital. Please check the availability and cost before having this filled. My total copay is $0 and it took awhile to straighten things out.

I take 6 m pill and 12 m pill twice a day and I have to say this med worked great for me. I stoped my shaking and lips moving around uncontrollably, The only side effect I have from it I think is I have a lot of problems sleeping, but medacation works great for me so I don't. It's been a great drug for me. I would tell anybody to try this drug because it has worked so good for me. Very happy on this med.

Been taking it for a few months now. My liver levels have gone up and doctor is checking to see if this medicine caused it. Doesn't work real good. I am not happy with this drug

I took Austedo twice daily for three days from a starter pack. It was a total disaster. My dyskinesia symptoms got worse, I had terrible insomnia, and I became severely depressed with suicidal thoughts. It's been several days since I stopped taking it and my dyskinesia symptoms are still worse than before I started taking the drug and I am still severely depressed. I was able to sleep last night with help from clonazepam so I don't know if the underlying insomnia side effect is still there.

It gave me anoise like a tune in my head. The doctor doesn't want to say the caused it but it started when I started taking the medication. I am going to sue also.

I am a 53 year old Male. I started Astedo for Tardive Dyskinesia. I am on 6mg dose twice a day, it has taken most of my symptoms away. Only symptom I have is uncontrollably chewing but it has definitely made it less of an issue. I have no blinking issues anymore, no lip smacking, no tongue movements and no trunk movements when standing. I felt as if I was having tourettes syndrome experience, and it was keeping me away from people and going out. Now I am happy to say that it has given me my.life back. I have had no significant issues or side effects with this drug. I had to fight the insurance company to get it as I was taking antipsychotic medication and they would not approve the drug due to its cost. It is approximately $4800.00 for 60 pills! But after much fighting my psychologist got the medication approved. If you have TD, I recommend this drug highly. Your doctor will give you what is called an A.I.M.S. test, and if you score a 6 or above on this test they will recommend this drug for you, I tested at a 13 but I still have to go in to see where I am at now, I'm sure it is below a 6 now. I have had no problem driving on this medication or operating equipment. Hope this review helps. I am so fortunate to have normalcy in my life now!

Austedo works, sometimes, for the 1st dose. I can go until 5 p.m. or so. Sometimes, I have to take the 2nd dose between 12:30 and 2:30 p.m. and even then my mouth becomes painful. I take 24 mg twice daily.

I have been using austedo for one year and 3 months. Am on 48 mg daily for tardive syndrome. It took 2 months to be effective. I would get nauseous when I first starting taking it but you have to take it with food and I wasn't. It has been a miracle wonder drug for me.
