I did not find the expectorant to be that effective at reducing my cough or mucus build up. It also made me feel really drowsy just taking the 600mg pill every 12 hours. Also made me feel slightly nauseated too.

Apparently, I am one of the few who has issues with breathing while using this product. I took one dose. I took it on the advice of a physician assistant. Never again. It dried me out so much I couldn't breath. Didn't like that much. No other meds taken with it.

My wife and me have taken Mucinex for 5 days and has not helped one bit. Total waste of money. Only helps drain your pocket book.

An hour after taking I became dizzy and literally stumbled to the bedroom and passed out for 1 1/2 hours. Then explosive diarrhea. Horrible experience. Do not take a chance on this drug.

I had an extremely bad cough/congestion and thought I’d give this a try, not worth it. Didn’t sleep, after 12hours started feeling dizzy, after 20 hours bad dizziness, chills, the worst headache/migrane I’ve ever had, and feeling really nauseous. Just waiting for it to wear off and apparently for the explosive diarrhea. Not worth the side effects.

Took this medication for nasal congestion and sinus headache. Useless! Did not help at all. Made me feel dizzy and irritable.

This is the worst medication I have ever taken for cough. It’s expensive for no good reason but mostly it doesn’t work! It also makes you feel really, really bad too. If you have a cough, stick with DXM (dextromethorphan) in its Hbr form or free base form (you can only find this on Amazon or online vendors). The OTC stuff sold at pharmacies have a lot of extra junk in them that don’t help at all! Definitely stay away from Mucinex if you want to be able to function at work or home. Never, ever, ever buy anything with Guaifenesin in it, (thats the horrible ingredient in Mucinex) it will make you feel like crap and doesn’t help at all with a cold!

I took one Mucinex and I’ll never take another one nor will the product be in my house. I have a major cold and Mucinex did nothing but make it worse. I was up all night because of it, and I had started to come out of it till I took that. And no, I’m not smoking crack as one reader suggested. Medication‘s all act differently on different people. But in my opinion, I wouldn’t recommend this to my worst enemy.

Waste of money, no relief, side effects are terrible. Anxiety, sleepless, irritability. Why is this product even on the market. Stick to old school remedies..

Took 1200 mg dm. Only one pill and had the worst side effects .severe nausea and vomiting After 5 hours started to feel sick with nausea, dry heaving and I felt feverish.felt like my insides could be destroyed from one pill. Very scary situation. Spent the next entire day drinking nothing but water. Ate a couple small healthy meals . on Tuesday I had a cup of coffee felt high as could be and shaking and spent all day long vomiting for hours . Finally able to eat at 530 pm small meal. This is day 3 absolutely not having caffeine. Not eating much scared to take my vitamins fear of chemical reactions in the body. Hope to get back to normal tomorrow.won’t take again

Worst experience on this medication. Took 1 pill, 1 time. Was rushed to ER for burning throughout body, panic and anxiety, tremors, high blood pressure, heart palpitations, and neurological issues. I haven’t been right since taking this medication and it’s been 3 months. I don’t recommend this medication at all. Please do your research as it has terrible side effects. I can’t believe this stuff is on market, my own doctors can’t even tell me what’s wrong. Was in hospital multiple times over this medication. Please take with precaution.

had a week so far of shortness of breath and loads of mucus discharge from irritation, doctor recommended i grab some. worked first 45 minitues as stated on packet, and no side effects apart from a little bit of sleepiness. Lasts for 12 hours, is a miracle when you are suffering. Highly recommend.

Who was the genius that decided to place the dosage instructions behind a peel back label (that is a terror to peel back). Just print the instruction on the back of the bottle like every other company.

Like all the "over-the-counter" stuff, this is not a treatment, it's barely a relief that will just make you sick longer. Best way to decongest your sinus is to clean them and make them moist enough to reduce the production of mucus. You do that with a saline spray, taken horizontally so that it flush from one nostril to the other one, about 6 times a day.

Out of all the cold medications there are, Mucinex is more efficient and effective than all others on board. The effectiveness was immediately and as far as DayQuil or NyQuil or any other of the band names out there, are no comparison to Mucinex. I give that cold medicine a 10 plus over everything else on the market, you'll never know what you're missing out on until you try it !!!!!!!! thank you Mucinex.........

Upset my stomach - lightheaded - didn’t even relieve my cough

Liquid works great at night to deal with chronic bronchitis. Pills are not as effective and the safety packaging makes getting out the pills one huge pain in the ass.
