This product absolutely sucks. My stomach is still hurting and I still feel nauseous even though I have been stopped taking the pill. This messed up my WHOLE GI track and my acne is not clear. This product is like “bandage” effect so me personally these side effects not worth the pain and uncomfortableness I’m experiencing. If your thinking about this product don’t let me “hold you back” lol but just do your research and make sure you know the side effects that it comes with.

I am an TBI survivior and i was given this medicine for skin flare up. this medicine made me end up by ambulance in hospital. dont take it if you have had a previous brain injury like me. i had severe pressure and stabbing pains in my head seeing white lights my body was spasm and went rigid fast heartbeat. we had to call ambulance and i had to have a CT scan to make sure my brain was stable. This drug can cause extreme pressure in head and can be potenital dangerous for brain injury surviours. i never should have been prescribed this if they had checked my notes. the pains were agony in my head and my body went tight and rigid and spasms like a seizure. please be careful with this drug.

This medication is very effective for bacterial cellulitis. It gives me a little nausea but well tolerated overall.

This happened 6 years ago but I thought I’d share and hopefully help someone. I started taking Doxycycline for acne. Around week 3, my skin was clearing up well but I started to feel off mentally. I have no history of mental health disorders but I started to have suicidal thoughts and depression. I did not attribute it to the medication at first and stayed on it for another few months where things just got worse. Finally, my mother reminded me that I started having these thoughts around when I started taking this medication. I immediately stopped taking it and after about a month, I was completely back to my normal self. Please be careful taking this medication. Works wonders for acne but not worth the mental effects.

With in 2 days fell brand new ! It made me feel a little woozy but I think it is great everyone in family asks for it instead of Augmentin.

I found an embedded tick up on my left shoulder area--one that I could not see without "trying to see it." FYI, I bathe every day. However, the tick was apparently there for a week. I am nearly 80 years old. My primary care physician thought that I might wish to take 100 MG Doxycycline tablets two-a-day to make sure possible Lyme Disease or other problems were cut off early. I have had minimal side effects. (NOTE: I'm not sure if the "MAIN REASON FOR TAKING THE DRUG" description fits...but my reasons are detailed here.)

I’m a 82 year old male, with red, scaly facial blisters. My first time using it was about 2 months ago. I took it twice a day for 10 days. It cleared up, and I stopped taking it. This week it reappeared, and now I’m on my 2nd day. No side effects. I take it twice a day, per instructions, I stopped using my 1/2 & 1/2 with my coffee. Second daily dose is in the late afternoon with a full glass of water and a non dairy snack. I’m disappointed that previous results were short lived. If I need to be outside for even a short time, my skin burns hot.

I am taking it for a possible cellulitis from a yellow jacket sting on my leg. It has worked well in combination of topical Mupirocin 2% 22 grams topical. The large reddish purplish area from this sting cleared up almost immediately in 2 days. The combination is what I believe helped it excellerate and now very much unnoticable to the eye whereas before it was able to be seen well from across the room aproximately 5 diameter across. The two times I took the Doxy it made me feel as if I were going to throw up. I had to eat but didn't feel an appetite despite not eating all day. I did anyway and felt better. I took it before for longer than a week for bites from insects and it is not the most pleasant experience when taking it but with food it is not as bad. Read the instructions though as some things can bind with it and make it less active.

It didn't even clear my skin, it just made me feel sick. NEVER forget to take it with food or you will feel like you're dying. It gave me the worst stomach aches and nausea ever.

I’m allergic to so many antibiotics but for whatever reason Doxycycline is the only thing that seems to work for me for various ailments. If you haven’t used this before (Do Not) take without first having something to eat and at least one full glass of water…don’t lie down you must sit up, and don’t try taking it with milk or fruit juice etc like I did the very first time I took it as it will give you really severe heartburn…very unpleasant I also use a ginger drink every day and that seems to help with any nausea feelings

I didn't know it when I took this but some antibiotics can cause psychiatric side effects. They say they are rare but I suspect more common than known because most people would never make the connection. After one day on doxycycline I had suicidal ideation and depression, which lead me to searching online. Seems it doesn't affect many people but can affect even those who have never had psychiatric issues. I discontinued the med and feel fine. I will never take it again.

I am using this medication for serious IBS pain, and let me tell you, this is the only thing that helped with the pain. I had no side effects from it. I was so scared to try it because all of the negative reviews. Without this medication I could not function right now. Works pretty fast too. I recommend using it before waiting till you get the pain.

I ate and took Doxycycline Hyclate 100 mg and within 30 minutes I could feel a headache coming on. This is my second day taking this and after today it’s going down my septic! I’m gonna ask for a different antibiotics.

I took this as a preventative because of a tick bite. There was no issue with the first dose. I took the second dose with breakfast and 10 minutes later I was violently vomiting up everything. It was so forceful it hurts to swallow or move my neck. I’ve never had an issue with an antibiotic before.

The nausea and diarrhea are a pain! Even with food you still feel sick. I hate this medicine. Never had it before and never again. You can't take anti-diarrhea med either.

My dermatologist recommended this medication for acne. The first 2 days he was fine, but on the third day small rashes started to break out all over his body. My whole body itches and it's horrible, I haven't even been able to sleep well because of this. I've had an improvement in my face, but I don't even know if it's worth it. I've had horrible nights and I want to take off my skin.

Taking it for cellulitis caused by spider bite. Took down the swelling after a week. Made me light headed, nauseous and seeing double when watching TV also shortness of breath and unable to sleep. Had to stop it before I finished the pills but will be seeing the doctor tomorrow.
