This product took about a month to work for me, but what a difference! The swelling reduced greatly -skin texture is so much better. I do not have the tiny outbreaks anymore. I did not get truly AMAZING results until I coupled with the Rosadan topical gel. Together after about 3 weeks my skin looks fantastic, the best in 9 years! I even have been off the Oracea pills now for 6 weeks and still perfect skin going strong with only the Rosadan gel on my skin 1x a day at night after cleansing. I was on the Oracea for about 9 months and my doctor wanted to monitor me so he requested blood work before he wrote an updated prescription. I too dislike having to take something internally for so long, so I willingly went off it for now...just to see how I do. So far, so good. I have tried everything over the years, laser, creams, ointment, gels even eliminating the "triggers" but let's get real, I have kids and work full time, I need coffee, wine and of course who isn't stressed. These 2 medications gave me back my skin and now I am not in pain and every now and then I can leave the house with light powder on my face instead of having to pack on the foundation to hide the hideous redness and bumps. I am so thankful. However, depending on your insurance, this medication can run about 375 a month! Thankfully I have a PPO plan and here in California it is about $75 a month, but when I was on a previous plan, it was around $500. yikes So shop around for the best possible price, and definately try it, I am so glad there is finally a way to live with rosacea!!!

I have two skin conditions on my face: seborrheic dermatitis and rosacea. I use a steroid cream two days a week and Elidel the other five days. I also take Oracea once a day. This combination has worked wonders! I no longer get flaky, raw, red areas on my cheeks, nose, eyebrows and chin. There is a little trace of redness on my cheeks but nothing drastic.

I've been taking this for over five years and it's been extremely effective in keeping the Rosacea pustules under control. Whenever I've tried to reduce the dose, the pustules return. The only inconvenience I've had is the time restrictions for eating, but that is minor. I cannot find any information on long term affects. I have not had any problems. The insurance company does not classify Oracea as a maintenance drug, which is interesting since Rosacea is incurable.

I started taking this medicine 25 days ago because I had severe acne flare ups. Within the first week I saw my skin calm down and pimples became smaller but did not completely disappear. Some of the side effects I am experiencing is upset stomach (diarrhea), very itchy skin, and some weird red rash around my eyes. I am continuing to take the medicine because I am desperate for my skin to clear up, but will definitely ask my DR about these when I see her on my follow up visit. Also while my skin tone has even, my acne is not gone, just lighter and not as big of cysts. I was hoping this pill would completely clear up my skin, but it has not done so at this moment.

This pill worked like magic for me. I had pretty bad acne and redness from my rosacea before taking it and within a week my face had cleared up about 80%. Its about 5 months later now and my face has never been so clear. I occasionally get some redness, however I have not had any acne since taking it. I would also recommend oracea over generic doxycycline because with the generic I would often get nauseous and throw up shortly after taking the pill, however with oracea I have not had any discomfort at all. Plus, with insurance the price is about 40$ a month, which to me is worth having near perfect skin and zero side effects.

Oracea works for me ... I t cleared my face in a week ( I use together with Finacea) My only concern that As soon as I try to lower the dose ( at least 3 times per week), all my bumps and pimples return ... Looks like I have to take it as alon as Ican afford it :)

After one year of Oracia and Metrogel neither does anything for the condition. In fact it was originaly on the nose and forehead and now has spread to both sides of my face. on occasion rarely, it lessened for 2-3 days and just returns worse than before, I have never missed a dose, if I didn't have insurance I wouldn't pay for something that doesn't work!

This pill has done nothing for me. Still breaking out and bumps have not changed at all. When I went to renew prescription, pharmacist wanted me to pay over $120.00 for it. She said it was worth over $1,000.00 for one month supply. I did not renew because of cost and ineffectiveness.

It was promoted to me by an eager Dermatologist as a "wonder cure" for my increasingly problematic Rosacea. For the first three days, I felt pretty bad after taking this drug but eventually got used to it. I would estimate a 10% difference in the redness and overall flare ups from this horrible disease. Is 10% improvement worth the high price for this drug- that I haven't determined yet but I'm leaning more on the "no" side.

My face was very red and bumps, dermotologist prescribed oraces and metronidazole cream. in 2 days my skin was flaking off. I called the dermo and said was this usual, and thought it was the metro cream. she said stop takinf it. after reading comments here I now know it was the Oracea. also had outbreak on chest & neck and terrible itching. Allergist took me off pravastatin and redness went awy and most skin problems! why dont Drs warn you about side effects??????

you can say i had a perfect face before i got diagnosed with rosacea. all of a sudden on my 19th birthday my face felt like it was burning off, then i saw more symptoms coming along, puss like pimples, red itchy patches (INNOYING!) and enlarged pores. i decided to see a derm. the doctor gave me oracea to take. it was a life saver! my face started to glow again.. i will get an occasional pimple here and there but nothing serious. i also find that pimples heal faster with this medication. the only thing i have negative to say about oracea is the dietary restrictions.. have to take on an empty stomach etc... oh yeah and when you stop taking this medication your face goes back to what it was... i don't want to be on medication forever =( its freaking expensive!!! but overall the best i have tried

I take this for ance. But it has made me feel bloated constantly and caused irregular periods. It stops the ance but its not worth the pain.

My rosacea symptoms are getting worse. The bumps seemed to improve a little bit the first few days but are now much worse than when I began. I've made no changes to my routine. Side effects: diarrhea, dry eyes & blurred vision, vaginal yeast infection, itching (face, back, shoulders, stomach), bloating/weight gain (puffy face- similar to reaction to cortisone), dizziness, fatigue I've clearly decided to discontinue.

I find no side effects at all. The drug is expensive, but not if you use the $25.00 coupon. It takes time to work, but be patient. In my case it works fantastic. Don't stop taking it though as the problems will return.

I was given this drug to help clear my acne (in addition to a gel I put on before bed). At first my face seemed to improve but now it looks like it did before I started. I have also noticed that I have been breaking out badly on my chest and have dry red spots on my back, stomach and legs. I have also had 3 severe migranes in less than two months (previosly it had been over a year since anything similar). I assume that my reactions had something to do with the Oracea since there were not any other variables that had changed during the use of the drug. I was very hopeful that this medication would work for me but I guess it is back to the drawing board!

On my 3rd day on Oracea, I began feeling like I was getting a yeast infection. Two days later I realized it could be the meds, did my research, and sure enough, others had the same problem. I called my dermatologist who then told me not to take it any more, and called in a prescription for the yeast infection. However, this has not been a typical yeast infection. It came with severe swelling, pustules, and very bad pain. I have swollen glands too I can't believe I wasn't warned so I could've put 2 and 2 together sooner and not had this drug pumping through my system for an extra 2-3 days. Talk about MISERABLE!
