Supprelin LA is usually given by a health care provider in a hospital or clinic. In the first few weeks of treatment, Supprelin LA can cause some hormones to have higher levels. The hormone levels should go back down within four weeks of starting treatment, but during this time, there may be more signs of puberty, such as menstrual (period) bleeding. Call your health care provider if this lasts for longer than four weeks.Supprelin LA can alter test results in pituitary-gonadotropic and hormone function tests while you are using the medicine and even after your last dose. Tell any health care provider you are seeing that you are using Supprelin LA.Your health care provider will give instructions on how to keep the area clean and cared for after the Supprelin LA implant is placed.
