Neupro may cause a sudden drop in blood pressure when standing up from a seated or lying position. Neupro may also cause fainting, which can be due to this drop in blood pressure or changes in your heart rate. To help prevent this, be careful not to get up too quickly. If you feel dizzy, sit or lie down right away until the dizziness stops, then take your time getting up again. Tell your healthcare provider right away if you have any of the following symptoms.Dizziness, feeling lightheaded, or fainting, especially upon standingBlurred visionConfusionFeeling weakUnusual or Compulsive Behaviors. Neupro can cause some people to have strong unusual and uncontrolled urges (compulsions), including gambling, sex, shopping, or eating. Talk to your healthcare provider right away if you or someone you know notices that you have new or worsening strong urges or behaviors.Increased Blood Pressure (Hypertension) and Heart Rate. Neupro may increase your blood pressure and your heart rate, especially if you have heart disease. Call your healthcare provider if your blood pressure or your heart rate (pulse) increases while using Neupro.If you measure your blood pressure and the top number (systolic) is 180 mm Hg or higher or the bottom number (diastolic) is 120 mm Hg or higher, get medical attention right away. Increases in blood pressure may not be noticeable but look out for any of the following symptoms of severely high blood pressure.Sudden severe headacheChest painDizziness or confusionTrouble breathingNausea/vomitingBlurry or other changes to visionAnxietyBuzzing in the earsNosebleedFeeling of skipped heartbeatsWeight Gain and Fluid Retention. Neupro may cause weight gain, which is often associated with fluid retention (edema) in your legs or hands. Tell your healthcare provider if you notice any sudden weight gain or any swelling in your limbs.Uncontrollable, Involuntary Movements (Dyskinesia). Neupro may cause or worsen involuntary movement problems, including shakiness, stiffness, or jerkiness. Call your healthcare provider right away if you develop any unusual or uncontrolled movements or if they get worse.Skin Reaction Where the Patch is Placed. Neupro may cause skin reactions where the patch is applied, including redness, swelling, itching, and rash. Tell your healthcare provider if you have any skin reaction that lasts more than a few days, gets worse over time, or spreads beyond where you applied the patch.Worsening of Restless Legs Syndrome. When Neupro is used to treat restless legs syndrome, it may sometimes cause your symptoms to get worse or happen earlier in the day. Neupro may also cause a rebound of symptoms once the medicine wears off. Tell your healthcare provider if your restless legs syndrome symptoms get worse while using Neupro.Â

What should I do if I accidentally use too much Neupro?If you or someone else has used too much Neupro, get medical help right away, call 911, or contact a Poison Control center at 800-222-1222.What should I do if I miss a dose of Neupro?If you miss a dose or forget to change your patch at the scheduled time, apply a new patch as soon as you remember. Then replace the patch at the usual scheduled time the next day. Do not use double or extra doses.

It may harm them.Keep Neupro out of the reach of children.To limit the risk of skin reactions, apply Neupro to a different area every day. Do not apply Neupro to the same place more often than once every 14 days. If you have any irritation or rash where the patch was applied, avoid exposing the area to sunlight until it heals. Do not apply Neupro on oily, irritated, or damaged skin. Do not apply it on an area that will be rubbed by tight clothing. Do not cut or damage the patch. Make sure that you or a caregiver understands how to properly use and throw away Neupro. If you have any questions, talk to your healthcare provider.Remove Neupro before you undergo magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or cardioversion. Neupro can cause skin burns where it is applied if you wear it during these procedures.Avoid exposing the area where Neupro is applied to heat, such as heating pads, heated blankets, saunas, hot tubs, and long exposure to sunlight. Applying heat to a patch can increase the amount of medicine released from the patch and increase the risk of side effects.Do not stop using Neupro without talking to your healthcare provider. Stopping too quickly may cause serious side effects. Talk to your healthcare provider about your risks if you are in this age group.What should I tell my healthcare provider before using Neupro?Tell your healthcare provider about all of your health conditions and any prescription or over-the-counter (OTC) medicines, vitamins/minerals, herbal products, and other supplements you are using. This will help them determine if Neupro is right for you.In particular, make sure that you discuss any of the following.Mental Health Problems. Tell your healthcare provider if you have any mental health problems, including bipolar disorder or a psychotic disorder (such as schizophrenia or delusional disorder). Neupro may increase the risk of psychosis.Sleepiness. Tell your healthcare provider if you have any conditions or take any medicines that make you more sleepy than usual or if you feel that you are prone to feeling drowsy during the day. Neupro may increase the risk of sudden daytime drowsiness.Heart Problems. Tell your healthcare provider if you have any heart conditions, including heart disease or heart failure. Neupro may cause changes in your blood pressure, increase your heart rate, or cause fluid retention, which may affect your current heart conditions.Sulfite Allergy. Tell your healthcare provider if you are sensitive to sulfites. Neupro contains an ingredient that can cause potentially serious reactions in people with a sulfite allergy. A sulfite allergy is not the same as a sulfa allergy.Other Current and Past Health Conditions.
