I'm using this drug for ocular rosacea. I have used this product for a year and it does not work at all. I am unable to get only 1 drop per eye in and the bottle does lasts less than a week. This product is very painful once it reaches my eye. I really wanted for this product to work because my eyes are frequently so red and sore.

A 22 day supply (1 drop each eye, twice a day) lasted 7 days!!! Too inexpensive for misinformation.

Does help with chronic stye condition to some degree. However the dispenser is terrible, more than 1 drop comes out when you just hold it over your eye. There is some burning and irritation but not unbearable. Overpriced if you have not hit deductible. $152 (2015)

A word to the wise, before you take on a prescription for Azasite 2.5ML. I am using this medication for Blepharitis. I paid $122.50 (twice) for 2.5 ML, for these eye drops. Since my experience with Azithromycin, as an antibiotic has always been positive, I expected good things from this medication, as opposed to the extreme burning, that seems to continue for a life-time, not to mention now I realize why my arms are all broken out with contact dermatitis. For the amount of money one has to pay for these drops, the least the Merck Company could do is subsidize the cost of the Aveeno Eczema Therapy Moisturizing Cream; I had to buy for the treatment for my arms. (And I thought it was from stress) It’s also mid-July as I write this in New York City, so the heat and humidity, are at a maximum. I am halfway through my treatment, and now wonder if it’s worth, continuing in lieu of the side effects on my arms! I agree with every other review I have read so far. My symptoms from the Blepharitis are quite intact. The improvement factor is still at absolute zero.

Prescribed to treat blocked oil glands. Way too expensive! For the $120 price without insurance (or, if like me you have a high deductible HSA plan) you could literally buy an equal amount of gold, by weight. And, I agree with other posts regarding not enough medication to last the whole month; however, if you review the dosage and administration guidelines on the Merck website, Azasite is intended to be prescribed for a period of only 7 days. Your beef is with your doctor, who should be reported. I called Merck to tell them about it and they took my doctors information to HUNT HIM DOWN! or so they told me. They will likely just give him some more free samples and kickbacks for prescribing Azasite for non-FDA approved uses. Stuff does not work to unclog oil ducts. Buy gold instead.

I have had to pay$94 for these drops and there was only 4 drops in the 2.5ML bottle. 2.5 ML should equal 60 drops. I took the 1st bottle back to the pharmacy and the next bottle I received was empty as well. I got 2 whole drops out of it!!

I also cannot get the prescribed amount of drops from one bottle. The small bottle that is sold barely gives 7 days of use. And the cost is excessive. I cannot believe that a drug companys cost should be so high that it is passed to the consumer. A rip off.

Prescribed for after trabulectomy with shunt for glaucoma. 1st of all the price is criminal! $97.00 for 2.5 ml which worked out to be 8 uses! 2nd the bottle is deffective- you get a huge blob with the 1st squeeze & after that you have to squeeze so hard & different amounts of medicine come out each time- I'm not new to using drops- I have used drops for 4 years, so it's not user error. the bottle design is defective. 3rd when a drop finally makes it into your eye, it feels like a thousand tiny knives are stabbing you for about 5 minutes! It made me scream in pain each time. I also had a strange symptom/side effect- every time I put a drop in- it made me sneeze a few times. I only sneezed right after putting a drop in, no other time during the whole course of treatment, just every single time of use. It DID keep my eyes from getting infected but the price is rediculous- at $100.00 for 2.5 ml they could spare to give you at least an 1/2 size larger. & they can afford to come up with a proper bottle design that dispenses an equal amount of medicne each time as it should!

Very poor effectiveness overall for Blepharitis. Can barely get 16 drops out of the miniscule 2.5 ml bottle yet Dr. prescribes 1 drop each eye for 30 days, no way! I would need 4 bottles but insurance only covers 1 bottle every 30 days! Shame on MERCK, ineffective and deceptive yield labeling.

Terrible. It was very expensive and hard to dispense and burns like hell. The other opthalmic solutions I've used for pink eye have been completely painless and effective. My doc told me this was better. Not so, my eyes still hurt 1 hour after putting these slimy drops in. Never again.
