Had my first and only shot July 1, 2022. Two days after shot I had sever pain in my lower back and right jaw. Next day the worst pain of my life in my feet and legs, lower back, and right shoulder. Spoke with my doctor on Wednesday because the pain was unbearable. She told me it was normal and would last about a week. Tomorrow will be a week and I'm still in pain. Due to the severity of this pain I will NOT take any more of it. I can not come up with a way to relay to you in writing how horrible this week has been.
HE PROLIA FOLKS ARE USELESS.I have taken Prolia for more than 6 yrs without any issues. I was given the drug by IM by mistake. Does anyone know if the drug will work or will there be side effect that I didn't have before. THE PROLIA FOLKS ARE USELESS.

I am a very active 72 year old. (Ride horseback, tarred a roof, bowl etc.) My new physician recommended a Dexa-scan & said I was in early stages of Osteoprosis & told me I needed Prolia shots. I trusted him. Did not go to Dr. Google or read up on this before I had injection. I had the shot Apr. 19. Since then, I have had terrible back pain, muscle spasms, knee pain, UTI and generally exhausted. Now I am reading up on this horrible drug & will not have another injection. And the cost to Medicare! That is just BS !!!!

I have been in horrendous pain since getting my injection 5 months ago. My back, hips, arms and legs ache constantly. It's a nightmare. I end up lying in the floor sobbing 3-4 nights a week because the pain is so bad. I will not take another dose. Just won't.

I got this shot on March 22, 2022. That same night I started having belly pain, fever, chills, and horrible pain in my hips, lower back. That lasted over a week. Then exactly one week later I had a Bladder infection that has lasted since I took it today is April 28, 2022. I've got horrible pain in my right calf can't hardly walk. Pain in my left arm. And my hips, back, belly and legs hurt so bad. The pain is worse in my hips now than it was before I took the shot. I wish I had researched this drug before I took it. This is horrible I'm very fatigued now as well. My teeth are breaking. I already had an autoimmune disease and kidney disease before I took the shot. I called my Dr and all his nurse said was you just hurt across your hips and belly because you have a bladder infection!!! REALLY my Dr never said anything about the side effects of Prolia. This is poison that I would do anything to get out of my body. I have a long way to go before it gets out of my body. There should be a Law Suit against the company that makes this drug. I've been reading as much as I can on this mess. I hope the pain in my calf is not a blood clot from this shot. I can't lean to the left because it hurts my bladder so bad. There is definitely something wrong with me from this drug. I was doing ok before I took it. I will Never take it ever again. HORRIBLE DRUG!!!! PEOPLE NEED TO RESEARCH THIS POISON BEFORE TAKING IT!!!

To date, corrective treatment is ongoing, I have spent $35k trying to undo the damage this dangerous drug had done to me teeth. I don't have any dental insurance so what meager savings I have (had) is now gone. All of my teeth had to be extracted and replaced with implants thanks to the devastating effects of Prolia. The oral surgeon and dentist both said they had NEVER seen such total destruction. All my teeth were affected. The damage was deep in the bone so my loose and wobbly and painful teeth had no chance and could only be removed - not repaired. I told my doctor what his decision to start me on a Prolia had done to my teeth and he replied; "So are you gonna sue me?" Apparently, that was his primary concern, not my health and welfare. It was not his fault, the fault lies with the product called Prolia. I'm trying to keep it together but the pain is sometimes unbearable. The healing process will take time before I can eat properly again. Who knows if I can smile again. I don't even recognize myself when I look in the mirror. Please FDA, get this dangerous drug off the market!

When I went for my annual checkup in August 2013, my doctor gave me a shot of Prolia because he said it prevents osteoporosis and he had checked that it was covered by my insurance. When I asked he told me it had no side effects. My life changed completely after that and I am still suffering from just one shot. Started feeling excruciating pains all over my body, going from one place to another to the point that I ended up having to use a cane to walk. It triggered a severe reaction similar to rheumatoid arthritis and had to start taking medication. Before Prolia I was feeling great, doing yoga, exercising, very healthy. After Prolia my life changed forever for the worse. The sad thing is that I didn't need it because I only had osteopenia which is pretty normal when you're over 60. Reported it to the FDA and the manufacturer, Amgen. In 2014 they added a warning to the medication guide stating "it can cause severe and incapacitating pain in joints, muscles and bones."

Just had my second injection 5 weeks ago and the muscle aches in my thigh, legs, back and pressure on my groin is horrible. I am a walker and can barely walk now. My entire body is achy and I have no energy. It has made me terribly depressed. Also after first injection, I noticed my hair thinning out. I pray these side effects go away because my quality of life is diminished from this drug

Diagnosed with Osteoporosis at 18. Prescribed Prolia not long after. Injected first dose, was fine that day. Woke up the next day, and that's about all I did. I was awake, but I had tremendous body aches and was bed ridden for the rest of the week. Thought I had just come down with a flu or something. 6 months pass, and I injected round 2, that's when I realized that it was the Prolia that made me feel like crap, another week in bed, back pain only worsened. Stopped taking Prolia. Fixed my diet, did more physical exercise and stopped taking all medication. almost been 10 years now, haven't been back to the doctor since, besides a medical that I had to complete for a job. All in all, stop drinking and eating ultra-processed foodstuffs, stop gaming, get outside and get some sunshine and do some physical work. I feel better now than I did in my teen years where my parents just let me decide my own diet etc. I can't blame them completely - I was a terrible kid and would crack the wobblies if I didn't get my way, but terrible kids are also a by-product of crappy parenting. This drug may suit 50+ women with Osteo, but if you are under 25 with Osteo, it is a lifestyle disease, you need to fix your lifestyle and not just rely on drugs. Prolia will (after 8-10 years, taking a dose every 6 months) regenerate your bone density by about 22%. if you have a T-Score of -2.5, you will be lucky to get that score back to ~2.0-1.5. The quality of your life will decrease during that period, so you need to determine if the minor improvement of bone density is going to be worth the depleted Quality of Life. Get some good food in you, get out into nature and let your body start healing itself from all the lifestyle diseases that are all so prevalent these days. Cheers,

I have been loosing bone density for years. I had my first Prolia injection 2 weeks ago and have been experiencing back pain for a few days. I couldn't figure out why, then my legs started aching today. I was wondering what is going on and then remembered my injection. Is this what I can expect from now on?? What a disappointment.

I very reluctantly began Prolia 5 years ago. I am now 68 and my osteoporosis has been reduced to osteopenia at this point. I have had no negative side effects that I can attribute to the treatment at this point. However, I am very concerned about possible future jaw problems and the long term effect on my immune system, especially as I get older and the years on Prolia begin to really add up. I do not relish the idea of staying on this treatment for the remainder of my life, however it seems that is what may happen. I wish there was a way to step down from the treatment without reversing my gain in bone density.

First of all, I just love (Not) the "most positive comment"! The sister of a physician who, btw, doesn't sound as if she's even experienced this stuff yet. I let my doctor (whom I've always trusted before) talk me into this (I've since found I don't have advanced osteoporosis). First off, my arm felt like I'd been hit, hard, with a baseball bat for 4 out of the 6 months. I had increasingly terrible back pain, so much so that I had to receive PT for it. My whole body just ached to the point where I just felt 20 years older and I'm an active person. I was so angry to find out that I didn't really need this, in the first place, that I'm discontinuing, even though I've read the scary side effects of doing so and, believe me, they've started. I'm having severe back spasms, so badly, I can hardly move and this just isn't me! All this downhill in 6 months time. I'm going back to my physical therapist and hope that further strength training will get me out of this mess! I also believe that, if you have an old muscle injury, this will bring it back to life tenfold.
