Long acting dot work for me because the pain is off & on. Then you can't even take an otc for 12hrs. Junk.Is it from China? They gave me generic. On heating pad all day.

Dr switched me from Embeda to Hysingla. Within 48 hrs I started having really high BP & almost all the other symptons of withdrawal. Pain Dr says I DONT have withdrawal by just switching-well what does he know?? He's not the one writhing in pain for 4 or 5 days & then tells me he can see me in 48 hours-absolutely ridiculous

It takes hours before it starts working, then it only lasts about 6 hours. I spent the other 18 hours crying in pain because my dr didn't believe me.

I was taking 10/325 Hydrocodone tabs about every 4 hours (that's 8 10mg tabs every 24 hours). after a year i started having problems taking as prescribed and falling about 20 pills a month short. So my Doctor but my on Hysingla er 100 mg tab every 24 hours. It made me feel horrible for basically the whole 24 hours. I don't know why it wasn't a "withdrawl" type of bad feeling which i have experience with , it was a mix of mood change , hangover , dizziness and didn't even do a better job with pain. It didn't seen to work evenly over a 24 hour period either. I my opinion if you are in the same situation just stick with the short term pills and maybe deal with 2-hours of withdrawl feelings over 24 hours of whatever hell-ish feelings that Hysingla offers.

Worst month of my life on this drug. Worst pain I've felt in years, stops up my urine, rash and did not even touch my pain. Takes about 10 hrs. to kick in and doesn't help pain at all just makes you feel weird and miserable! I dissolved one in water to see how long it took to dissolve and it was around 9 to 10 hours, it swelled to the size of a .5" thick nickel. The consistency of it was like this sticky stringy glue. I would never ever take this again. NOT worth the money either, waste of money as a matter of fact.

Totally unreliable for pain relief - Had to use just as many IR breakthrough meds as before ; Unpredictable in it's action - caused me to pass out in the middle of the day the day AFTER taking it, which is dangerous if I'm driving when it does finally "kick in" ; Extremely difficult to swallow, as well. Very costly: $500 for a month's supply...all of it adds up to a completely useless and expensive medication that does more harm than good.

My Dr prescribed Hysingla er 20mg, 1 daily with hydrocodone 7.5/325 for breakthrough pain. The Hysingla worked great and I seldom had to take extra hydrocodone. The only problem is the price, over $400 for 30, 20mg pills. Why so expensive? I will go back to Norco.

This medication only has any kind of pain relief 15 hours after you have taken it and that moderate relief only lasts 6 hours. It should not be rated as a 24 hour solution for pain. I would rather just take 3 10 mg norco"s a day that would give good predictable relief.

Due to the political debate I was moved from morphine 30 mg to this in 40 mg. I have really been in severe pain the past 3 months I have been on this. But reading these reviews give me hope that maybe they will increase it to a better dose to maybe help me from 8 to 9 pain.

I started at 20 mg and slowly moved up to 100 mg. I now rarely have to take anything else for breakthrough pain. It has made made a big difference in pain control. The important thing is for your doctor to get you up to your effective dose and to give you enough medicine for breakthrough pain on your way up in dosage.

Dr. and I were looking for an alternative to taking Norco so many times a day, we decided to go with Hysingla (80 mg). I love it! Very little break out pain. Now my insurance (Medicare) I was paying 35 per month. now in my donut hole stage and the cost jumped to 788$ to 1600$. How sad. Meds that actually do a job and the drug companies put the cost out rageous... Now I go back to taking 6-8 pills daily for pain. Very disappointed in the cost for scripts that actually do what they are meant to do, without having to pop 6 or more pills a day just to get thru the pain.

Switched by doc from morph er 15mg. On Hyslinga ER 20mg for a few days and in more pain than using the morph. At this level it just isn't working. Now I'll have to suffer thru the month till I can see the doc again. The breakthru med will have to keep it from being excruciating. Not sure if he'll up the dosage or not will see. Very disappointed although its nice not having to take morph 3 times a day.

Lower dosages did not work at all. Higher doses took 2-3 hours before I could feel any pain relief, which was barely noticeable, and of which began to wear off after the 4th hour. So, a 24-hour pain medication, for me, was not any better than a med I would have to take 4-6 times a day. It also caused more pain in areas where I previously had no pain!

My pm doc started me on this drug because immediate release hydrocodone wasn't lasting long enough. My pain level has gone down from a constant 6-7 to nearly 0. I can sleep all night.

This drug has changed my life. I went from having constant severe pain in my feet to being able to stand at my kitchen sink and was the dishes without having spend 3 hours doing it. I have my freedom back. My pain was so severe that my feet stayed swollen. They are now almost normal. A big thank you to the makers of this drug. I can fall asleep and stay asleep. My side effects are very mild.

I have been on pain meds for 10 yrs. I was taking 4-5 a day. My dr. Switched me to this, what a difference. Instead of the roller coaster ride of highs and lows, it's just a steady relief. I can live a somewhat normal day to day life now. I do keep a regular pain pill with me at all times to use as a "break- through " pill, but yet had to use one.
