The drug works well for thinning your blood. The side effect I had was my kidneys hurt all the time. Had to get off of it for that reason.

I have been on Pradaxa and that only cause heartburn and digestive problems. I recently had the flue and had to stop SAVAYSA as it caused dark red/brown urine, along with loose yellow stools. The clinic I go to, took me off of it for a week and all symptoms cleared up. I then began using it again and within 4 days my symptoms returned. Doctor and I are looking for something better. I have A-FIB high elevated heart rate, accompanied with an enlarged heart. So far this has had the lowest side effects. I hope this helps you with your chooses.

This drug seems to be the best kept secret around, and I don't know why. Previously took Warfarin....yuck....bruised like crazy, dietary restrictions, all that blood testing and confusing dosing....glad to say BYE to that. I took Xarelto for a short period, and had terrible bleeding problems. Doc switched me to Savaysa and that stopped in 24 hours. No problems, no bruising, no side effects....nothing....and I've been on it for almost a year. And, on top of that, you only have to take it once a day, and you can take it in the morning if you like.

My body is terribly bruised, arms, legs and lower back. Swollen ankles and feet. Glad I will through with this drug in one week since I have the Watchman.
