After a month of taking orphenadrine I noticed side effects which I thought were normal, until I started unintentionally holding my breath. After reading through drug information, I found that 3 side effects (including trouble breathing) on the “signs of overdose” list. I called my prescribing physician and reported these conditions and asked if the pill is available in a lower dose. Even though the prescription packaging advises to swallow whole, do not cut, chew, or crush, he said I should cut it in half. Today I read that cutting the time released pills will increase risk of side effects. What the heck?!?! Do I argue with my Doctor, or possibly forget about exhaling, seeing clearly, and using the restroom? Seems like a fun choice.

I have Fibro, 2 auto immune's, 5 genetic disorders and a host of other things wrong with me. I have been almost bedridden for 11yrs now. I stay in a flare 24/7 365 days. My muscles from the base of my neck, through my shoulders, my whole back is hard as a rock. I have lower spasms which turns into full body spasms. Last month I had to go to the ER because it wouldnt release, I was in this for 5 1/2 hrs. They gave me a cocktail of meds Orpenadrine citrate 100mg er was one. My pain level has went from a 10+ to a 5. No side effects for me. Just great pain relief.

I have anxiety already and taking this drug has caused restlessness and jumpiness. It also causes my legs to constantly jiggle- ie restless legs-bad. This also causes the pain I am already suffering to be worse.
