It was recommended by a pharmacist due to a fowl smell after my period. It helped with the smell but on the second day I experienced side effects which I only realized on the 5th day that they were caused by the cream. It felt like I was swollen inside (cervix/uterus) which led to so much gas in my tummy. I had abdominal cramps and experienced some nausea at times. It would be nice to have extra applicators as well.

I have yeast infection every year I guess. The previous one was when I was in Cambodia the Gyn gave me the one to insert in the vagina. I'm in the Philippines right now I have two remaining tablets from last year and i couldn't find the same brand that I was using when I was in Cambodia. What I did was, show the packets in the pharmacy and they gave me this Brand. I felt itchy from the outside only, but i bought cream and the tablet. I was impress when i used the cream first. I am satisfied and happy from the first effectiveness. Now I can relax without itching down there. Since the pharmacy had one tablet only I will try to use it in the evening but so far the cream was effective. I will recommend this if you are like me who suffered the itchy feeling outside. if anyone is reading this, excuse my English as i am not fluent. Lol.

As a previous reviewer mentioned, a topical cream that has Clotrimazole can be very effective for instant relief of a continual burning or itching associated with a yeast infection. This is the ONLY thing that gave me relief and even though it slightly burned for a few seconds after applying to the vulva area, the relief was then amazing. I have not tried the vaginal inserts since I did not have any internal pain or discharge, and since the cream is something I keep on hand for occasional heat rash, I decided to give it a try after reading this article. So glad I did! Also, this cream can be found most anywhere to include Wal-Mart and Dollar General. Just look in the area where the creams for Athlete's Foot/Jock Itch/Ringworm treatments are, and you will see generic brands that are inexpensive (and just as effective in my opinion because I've tried the name brands too). Best of luck to you!

It doesn't make sense that the side effects of this drug are the same as a yeast infection - burning, itching. Hard to tell if the drug is working, but I think it is. Also for a 7 day treatment there should be 7 applicators. Extremely disgusting and a pain in the ass washing the 1 applicator over and over!

Shortly after applying the Canesten brand of clotrimazol, a burning sensation occurred on the area in question. Occurred at 10+1 weeks pregnant. Discontinued use and contacted my doctor.
