I have Psoriatic Arthritis and have been on Methotrexate as part of my medical regimen for almost 15 years. I now inject my Methotrexate every week to increase the absorption of the drug. I also inject my biologic med. Methotrexate has liver toxicity as a side effect. It certainly helps with my auto-immune disease however. My Rheumy had me start taking 1000 mcg's as soon as I started the Methotrexate. Over the last few years my dosage of the Methotrexate was increased to 1ml weekly and my folic acid dosage has increased to 2000 mcg's daily. Thankfully, my liver enzymes have remained largely within normal levels for more than a decade now.

I am taking this drug as a preventive measure while trying to conceive. I have had no side effects and find it very easy to take. Though I won't be certain how well it works until I become pregnant, I am confident it will be well worth it.

After using Folic Acid for several months I developed severe rash and itching. I stopped the medication and after about a week the rash and itching stopped. Antihistimane is the only medication that relieved the itch.

Been taking folic acid due to high homocysteine levels. My homocysteine levels have dropped, but not significantly. Overall easy to take (easier than a vitamin).
