After a little more than a month, my blood test shows a higher presence of triglycerides than before..
I started the generic Vascepa on a Friday evening 2grams. Woke up Monday morning with pretty bad left flank pain and pain in right elbow and knee. I continued to take it twice daily 2grams hoping it would get better. Tuesday morning, increased flank, abdominal pain, chest pain, I didn't think I could get out of bed, the pain was excruciating. I went to the ER Tuesday night, routine blood work-normal, ct scan-normal. they didn't believe that the drug caused all that pain. I did receive a shot of Toradol which helped some. Wednesday morning I took one more dose and that was it, the pain started at a 10 plus all over again. I never was able to take statins because of over all weakness and muscle pain. I should have listened to my gut and never tried this drug. This was THE worst pain I have ever had in my life. Its day three off the drug and the effects have lessened but are not gone. It also caused constipation (which being a vegetarian I never had) and severe lethargy. I guess it's a great drug for some but if you know you have trouble with statins, I wouldn't try it. Biggest regret of my life.
I took this cause I can’t take statins well my blood pressure was so high then I couldn’t see out of right had to call ambulance ER dr didn’t know what to think since my blood work was not good sure enough I stopped taking it my bp returned to normal but I have lost vision in my right eye
DO NOT TAKE VASCEPA! This drug is poision! I was on this for 2.5 months and had extreme heaviness in both legs, could hardly walk. I also got severe left hip pain and every joint in my body hurt. I stopped vascepa 10 days before a surgery I was having and felt slightly better, I resumed after surgery and all symptoms and more returned with more magnitude! Ear ringing , muscle spasms all over that felt like electrical shocks! The heaviness in both legs got worse I thought I was going to be paralyzed. I have been off of it for almost 3 weeks and no change. I am terrified . I am getting these electrical pulses all over. If anyone has had these experiences please respond. This is not fish oil!
After receiving the COVID booster I had a TIA with no side effects from it. My doctor prescribed Vascepa to prevent another TIA or stroke because I can't take Statins. After two doses I stopped Vascepa because something was wrong. Things got worse instead of better. My hands and feet felt like they were on fire. Then I collapsed and ended up in the hospital. After a week in the hospital the doctors determined that the Covid Booster was attacking the Vascepa. I now have drug induced Neuropathy in my feet and hands.A nightmare I wouldn't wish on anyone. Be careful.
I m taking vascepa for 7 weeks and I have constipation and I cannot sleep . I will check my blood today at the lab to see if it many any difference on my cholesterol otherwise I will stop taking this which is 350.00 a month . When the cardiologist told me about omega fish oil I got excited thinking it was the real thing but it’s synthetic .
I've been on Vascepa for years my triglycerides we're close to 700s now they are normal I take Vascepa along with Rosuvastatin everyday for over 5 years and I've been on other meds to control my levels but they didn't work until I changed Drs and he put me on both the meds and my levels have been normal for about 4 years thanks to Vascepa I recommend to everyone of my friends and family and even at Drs office when they say that there levels are high. Thank you for the great job in making an amazing drug.
I felt off. Could tell there were some changes in me. It caused some of my meds to stop working. My doctor has taken me off of this medicine. I just want to get it out of my system and don't know how.
Didn't decrease my cholesterol (bloodwork at three months) but there were no side effects
My Cardiologist put me on this and said it was a cleaner fish-oil than over the counter. Long story-short, it almost killed me in many ways. Worse year of my life. Had a fistula surgery. when I left the hospital, my pants were saturated in blood and blood running down my leg. Went back to hospital. They thought they fixed it and happened again. Over one year and another "Corrective surgery attempt" It still would not heal and would have blood in stool. Also Heart rythem issues, dizzy spells, shortness of breath, Extreme muscle and back pain, Pain in toe because it causes Gout. All my doctors just blew it off as anxiety and need for more exercise. I was always fit and in good shape. After these pills it paralized my life and doctors just kept saying "Oh your numbers look good" Must be anxiety and need for larger shoes. It was so scary I was praying to live for one more year to get my stuff in order for the family before I died. I'm type 1 diabetic and stroke is the leading cause of death. I felt like I was having a stroke on a regular basis and they all just said it's just anxiety and to do breathing exercise and yoga. OMG! So I stopped taking these pills and within 5 days I feel great and back to exercising again and not heart racing etc. Body aches went away and finally surgery wound is slowly healing. This stuff should not be allowed to be on the market.

Been in for two months now, joint pain in elbow and shoulder which I’ve never had before, can’t go my usual 2 mile walks as the pain and heaviness in my legs is unbearable. Came off it yesterday, going for bloodwork next week. Not worth it in my opinion. Would rather be able to go walking.
I took Vascepa for a week and stopped because of adverse effects Been off of it for three weeks and still having terrible pain in my feet and hands. Can't sleep because of pain. Terrible! Hope it will go away.
After extreme diarrhea for weeks I stopped taking v a s e p a. After three weeks I was still passing out pills in stool in whole undigested pills. Have had stool samples analyzed. Barium stomach testing and now cholonoscopy these are undigested pills stored somewhere in my intestines giving me extreme distress!!!
Vascepa was nearly poison for me. The muscle and joint pain progressively became unbearable...I could hardly walk. I'm sure it works for some, but sure didn't for me!

I was buying generic EPA and with the coupon I switch to Vascepa. Worked nicely. in 2019 I got a btl for $9.00, in 2020, my deductible changed and it is now +$250.00. Have to rethink this because of cost, a bit high.
Started treatment in March 2018, absolutely no side effects. My Blood work is showing improvement and I feel like I've taken control of my heart health. Dont forget to sign up for the coupon at vasecpa savings plan! Also you should know in my opinion these bad reviews are from a competitor that knows V is the real deal. I have 4 co-workers that are now taking V and none of us have any side effects. Game Changer!
After 3 days I experienced bad knee pain in both knees, and thought I had had some injury. If was after 16 days and re-reading the side effects of vazcepa I stopped taking them. I am now on a low purine diet suggested by my doctor because my uric acid levels are high causing gout symptoms. I have never had gout. Gout is a side effect of vazcepa. I have still got pain in my knees especially if I have a meal with high purine foods. I don't seem to be able to get the vazcepa out of my system. I will have another blood test in fourteen weeks time to see if my low purine diet has helped. But after reading many bad reviews on vazcepa I don't think the diet will solve the problem. My doctor has said the vazcepa will only have a minor effect on TG levels. And he was unaware that I had been prescribed vazcepa by a pharmacist in our group practice. My recommendation is see your doctor first before taking vazcepa. I will never take it again. It may work for some people but even the medical sheet that is supplied with the capsules says that adverse effects are found to affect one in ten people who take it. One review I read called vazkepa POISON I am of the same opinion that vazcepa is bad for me. I can't give this medication a negative rating, I would if I could do
