What Are Side Effects Associated with Using Lodoxamide ophthalmic?
Common side effects of Lodoxamide ophthalmic include:
- eye burning/stinging/discomfort/irritation
- eye itching
- eye redness or pain
- feeling as if something is in the eye
- dry nose
- sneezing
- headache
- dizziness
- drowsiness
- blurred vision
- watery eyes
- dry eyes
- sticky feeling in the eye
- swollen or puffy eyelids
- crusting in the corner of the eye or on the eyelid
- drainage from the eyes
Serious side effects of Lodoxamide ophthalmic include:
- hives
- difficult breathing
- swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat
- severe burning or stinging while applying eye drops
- severe eye discomfort
- ongoing burning or stinging
- appearance of blood inside your eye
Rare side effects of Lodoxamide ophthalmic include:
- none
Seek medical care or call 911 at once if you have the following serious side effects:
- Severe headache, confusion, slurred speech, arm or leg weakness, trouble walking, coordination loss, unsteady, very stiff muscles, high fever, profuse sweating, or tremors.
- Serious eye symptoms such as sudden vision loss, blurred vision, tunnel vision, eye pain or swelling, or seeing halos around lights.
- Serious heart symptoms include fast, irregular, or pounding heartbeats; fluttering in the chest; shortness of breath; sudden dizziness, lightheadedness, or passing out.

Vernal keratoconjunctivitis
Adult dosage
- 1-2 drops in affected eye four times daily for up to 3 months
Pediatric dosage
- Children younger than 2 years: safety and efficacy not established
- Children older than 2 years: 1-2 drops in affected eye four times daily for up to 3 months
Vernal conjunctivitis
Adult dosage
- 1-2 drops in affected eye four times daily for up to 3 months
Pediatric dosage
- Children younger than 2 years: safety and efficacy not established
- Children older than 2 years: 1-2 drops in affected eye four times daily for up to 3 months
Vernal keratitis
