  • Elemental magnesium
  • Males: 420mg/day
  • Females: 320mg/day
  • Pregnant females: 360mg/day
  • Lactation: 320mg/day

Adults age 19-30 years

  • Elemental magnesium
  • Males: 400mg/day
  • Females: 310mg/day
  • Pregnant females: 350mg/day
  • Lactation: 310mg/day

  • 1 packet (dissolved in water or juice) or 2 tablets (1230 mg) up to 3 times daily

This medication contains magnesium aspartate. Do not take Maginex or Maginex DS if you are allergic to magnesium aspartate or any ingredients contained in this drug.

Pregnancy and Lactation

Magnesium aspartate is generally acceptable for use during pregnancy. Controlled studies in pregnant women show no evidence of fetal risk. The elemental magnesium dietary reference intake during pregnancy is 350-400 mg/day for adult women.

Magnesium aspartate is distributed in breast milk. The elemental magnesium dietary reference intake for breast feeding women is 310-360 mg/day for adult women. Consult your doctor.
