I was very happy with the effectiveness of this birth control pills. I'm on it for 12 years. However, last few month, my breasts were sore and I found out I had liver lesions. I don't recommend this BCP to any women. Please study before you take any BCP. The side effects can be serious if use for a long time.

i heard a lot of good things revolving around this birth control, so when my doctor prescribed it, i didn’t really think much of it and thought it would help me .. my god was i wrong. i was only on this birth control since jan. 14th and i have experienced terrible nausea AND vomiting, fatigue, severe depression, and painful breast tenderness (but only my left breast on the left side). and for the entire month of march, i have had UNBEARABLE lower back pain, annoying cramps, severe issues with my gi tract (including constipation and diarrhea, even occurring simultaneously), and “spotting” that i would not call spotting, since sometimes it’s heavy and red and sometimes it’s lighter and brown, but still very much been going on for the whole month. i have had to take painkillers every single day for this whole month, bc the pain is so bad and nothing else seems to help. so, while this birth control has helped many people, it has done the COMPLETE opposite for me. beware ..

I have been on this birth control since Mar 2022. It's now almost Feb 2024 and I have a lot to say about this BC. Starting with the negative side because it's the most important part. The nausea is so bad. I have been experiencing the nausea since the first week. Also the way my sex drive has been very concerningly slow is an issue. I do lactate because of it too. I have gained at least 20 lbs. Lastly, I am always bloated. Positives are just that my periods are shorter now and I haven't gotten pregnant yet so... ?? Long story short if you wanna actually continue to enjoy sex and want to do it as often as usual, DONT TAKE THIS BC

PLEASE READ. So I was so scared of starting bc because I tried one in the past and it made me a little moody. I was scared of the weight gain, hair loss, and all the side effects that everyone talks about. Please contact your physician and give it a try, there’s tons of brands you can try and maybe one will work for you as long as you give it 1-3 months for your body to adjust. So far I’ve been on sprinter for almost 1.5 months. The first week it made me have a headache right after taking it, and it gave me stomach discomfort. But then I tried taking the pill right after eating a meal and that helped a lot. I’ve been craving bad foods (junk food, sweets) which is not usual in me but I’ve been trying to overcome it and eat healthy as well as exercising. I don’t think I have gained more than 2 pounds. Maybe less. My sex drive is through the roof!!! My boobs are a little sore but tolerable. Some cramps but not too bad. No mood swings. It’s only been a month, we’ll see how it goes but so far it’s not bad at all. I’ll come back here and give an update in 2 months so I can hopefully help some of y’all.

I am on month 3 of taking Sprintec and am officially stopping. The nausea is completely unbearable, starting after the 1 month mark and continuing almost every day causing me to wake up constantly throughout the night. Other side effects for me included excessive fatigue, breakouts, anxiety, and heavy periods. I do believe this medication will work great for some people but it is not for me, be aware of the nausea!

I’ve been on this (also sometimes Estarylla, another brand but same dosage) since I was 16. I’m 21 now. I took a break last year and got back on it. I remember the first month taking it and the first month since the break, that my acne flared but before it got better. I got on at 16 due to irregular cycles and acne, and this has regulated my cycles so I know exactly when it’s coming, and my acne only flares up during my period. Also, no babies. I never experienced any adverse effects, so I'm grateful for that. I do think you have to give your body time to adjust, especially when it comes to hormones.

I went on this birth control to control my periods after having my son. Not even a full week of being on it I started to feel dizzy, I tried to ignore it and went on with my day. My fiancé and I went to the store came back I sat down and my vision went completely blurry and I felt like I was going to black out. I spent 2 days in the hospital trying to figure out what was going on now I’ve been off it for 4 days and im starting to finally feel like myself again. Sharing my experience for other women that may have felt this before. Everybody is different hopefully it works better for you!

I took this birth control from about 18-21 years old. During this time I went from 150 pounds-185lbs (I'm 5'8) also experienced one of the worse depressive episodes of my life. I eventually told my obgyn basically that I was extremely numb and I had lost most of my will to live and she was like "yeah I believe you" I should have never been on this medication. I wanna add when I got off of it the first 2 weeks I dropped 15 pounds!!! I am not post baby lol yes, I did get pregnant after getting off and trying another birth control but still 1 year ppd I am 130 pounds and 24 years old and guess what my will to live is back.

Ive been on this birth control for about 5 weeks now and the side effects are starting to become unbearable. Ive noticed a huge increase in my depression and anxiety so much so to the point where I considered going on anxiety meds which I never wanted before but Ive never felt this anxious in my life even though Ive struggled with anxiety from an early age. I wake up nauseous every day and can't eat. I'm extremely moody and can't control my emotions. I was on Monolinyah before sprintec since January of 2021 and that was fine for me but after getting discontinued, my doctor said this is the generic brand of monolinyah and I would have to switch and this has been the worst experience of my life. Old traumas come to haunt me every day that I worked years to recover from and before taking sprintec, I knew how to control them. I have a doctors appointment in about a month and I'm thinking of switching away from pills in general but I may give one more a chance. Also a note I should add: I take my birth control 2 packs at a time so I get less periods because I deal with very heavy periods usually which my old birth control lightened and I still have not taken the sugar pills since the start of sprintec so I am unsure how how this will effect my menstrual cycle. We'll see... (Thanks for reading my story if you've made it this far!)

Took this med for 5 years. Had to swap to something else because of migraines. I would recommend this med because it's wonderful. If i hadn't had migraines, I'd stay on this med. It regulated my period, helped with my mood, it was great. Oh and of course kept the babies away haha. 10/10 would recommend. Minor side effects are expected in the beginning. You have to push through the first 3 months to understand what i mean when i say i loved Sprintec. You will too!

I loved the way this birth control made me feel. Except I regret taking it because I got gallstones and portal vein thrombosis of my liver a blood clot, Very sick in hospital. I do not recommend to any woman. Get yourself an IUD.

I have not been happy on this birth control. I thought it would help my acne, but it only made it worse. I cannot wait to finish the pills and switch birth controls. The only good thing about this pill is periods are light and it prevents pregnancy.

Made me very moody to the point all I wanted to do is cry and tired. I was taking it every morning at 630am and by like 1030am I was so tired I felt like I needed a nap.

Reading through these reviews, I can't help but wonder - do people realize it takes 3 to 6 months for the body to adjust to any new kind of hormonal birth control? If the side effects within that timeframe are life impairing - like constant debilitating nausea, cramping, heavy bleeding, you name it - I can understand quitting ANY new med, no questions asked, but come on. Just because you've gotten a few zits within the first 2 weeks of starting BC doesn't give you the right to tell others that the brand sucks and no one should buy it. I'm currently on my 3rd week of Sprintec and I've been spotting for a few days, developed two or three pimples on my jawline, might have some fluid retention. These are all very normal and (fortunately for me) mild side effects that are to be expected after introducing new hormones into your system. Sure, it sucks that my previously clear skin now has a few blemishes, and I could reaaaally do without the breakthrough bleeding, but it's only been 18 days since my first pill. I'm aware of the adjustment period and I'm willing to push through it because these pesky side effects will most likely subside. I want to give this birth control a chance. I plan to update my review, or delete it and submit a new one in a few months. This is mostly just a rant about all the one star "less than 1 month" reviews adding absolutely nothing of value to this page.

Gave me a stroke with just the use of two pills.

This birth control got rid of my acne and completely regulated my period (like to the hour and day!) so I know exactly when it’s coming. It also made my periods significantly lighter and my alleviated many of my period pains. Almost never have cramps anymore, just some breast tenderness, but that’s literally it! Also haven’t gotten pregnant yet, either!

I’ve been on Sprintec for over 11 years now. Amazing skin, never been pregnant, it got rid of my horrible painful ovarian cysts and because I take the pill everyday even on my sugar pill days I no longer get a painful period every month. I can’t remember the last time I had a period . But be warned! If you miss a pill it does really effect your mood and you mood will be up and down for the next day after missing it and the day of .

I'm 23 and I've taken this birth control for the last 4 years. I thought that it was working fine because my acne cleared up and it regulated my period. I also finally got boobs which was a plus for me but I was also the most anxious and depressed I've ever been in my life. I considered suicide a few times which was very unlike me. I attributed it to starting college, working and moving away from my family, but I had spent years abroad before starting birth control and never had an issue. I finally decided to switch to the depo- shot because I was having a hard time remembering to take the pill. It felt like a cloud was lifted. I'm so much less tired and miserable. I had no idea I had just been surviving for the last few years.
