What Are Side Effects Associated with Using Ocriplasmin Intravitreal?
Common side effects of Ocriplasmin Intravitreal include:
- Dry eyes
Serious side effects of Ocriplasmin Intravitreal include:
- Hives,
- Difficulty breathing,
- Swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat,
- Eye pain or redness,
- Vision changes,
- Yellowish vision, and
- Increased sensitivity to light
Rare side effects of Ocriplasmin Intravitreal include:
- none
Seek medical care or call 911 at once if you have the following serious side effects:
- Severe headache, confusion, slurred speech, arm or leg weakness, trouble walking, coordination loss, unsteady, very stiff muscles, high fever, profuse sweating, or tremors.
- Serious eye symptoms such as sudden vision loss, blurred vision, tunnel vision, eye pain or swelling, or seeing halos around lights.
- Serious heart symptoms include fast, irregular, or pounding heartbeats; fluttering in the chest; shortness of breath; sudden dizziness, lightheadedness, or passing out.

What Are Dosages of Ocriplasmin Intravitreal?
Adult dosage
Intravitreal solution
- 0.125 mg/0.1 mL (0.375 mg/0.3 mL)
- Note: Solution reformulated as of February 2017; reformulated solution does NOT require further dilution
Vitreomacular Adhesion
Adult dosage
- 0.125 mg (0.1 mL) by Intravitreal injection to the affected eye once as a single injection

Cautions
- Decrease of 3-lines or more BCVA; these decreases in vision were due to the progression of the condition and many required surgical interventions
- Intravitreal injections are associated with intraocular inflammation/infection, intraocular hemorrhage, and increased IOP
- Potential for lens subluxation
- Retinal breaks (e.g., detachment, tear) reported
- Dyschromatopsia (yellowish vision) and electroretinographic changes (a- and b-wave amplitude decreases) were reported

- Use with caution if the benefits outweigh the risks during pregnancy
- Lactation
