Do you enjoy a dirty martini? If so, skip the lemon pack. Prep the night before and chill overnight. I also chilled glasses for good measure. My instructions called for 15-20 minutes interval. I put a pile of magazines on the counter. Poured a 8-9 oz glass and drank it. Of course there is no alcohol buzz, but the flavor is similar to the slightly salty, faintly bitter taste of a dirty gin martini. Not awful at all. What I figured out after the first serving is that attempting to guzzle is counter-productive. That will give you a nausea feeling. Instead I drank at a slow/steady pace of 3-4 minutes per glass, reading a magazine article each time. My prep instructions were do drink the entire 4 liters in one go. Started at 2:00PM. Set a 15 minute timer in between. First bowel movement around 3:00PM. After that, trips to the bathroom were frequent but not that uncomfortable. Output was yellow and clear by 4:00PM. However, I continued and finished it all by around 7:30PM. Just drank water the rest of the evening. Colonoscopy went off without a hitch the next morning. Worked great for me. HOWEVER, if you are a person who can't gag down a dirty martini (Possibly the majority of the population, I think) get ready for an ordeal. You are about to drink 4 liters of dirty martini fluid. Consider applying all the tricks with lemons and straws suggested in the other reviews.

Colonoscopy scheduled for Monday 8:45 a.m: ...Thurs, Fri, Sat., low-fiber diet with last solid food eggs & white toast 6 p.m. Sat. ...Sunday morning and afternoon, 8 oz of clear liquids each hour. Jello, can of chicken broth, ginger ale, Gatorade, water. ...Sunday 5:00-7:30 p.m., I drank the entire jug of refrigerated Gavilyte-G from 5:00-7:30, 8-oz cup every 10 minutes until all 16 cups taken. I set a timer for 10 minutes; when it rang, quickly drank each 8 ounce measuring-cup. It took one hour for bowel movements to begin. Bowel movements gradually became clear pale-yellow fluid, then stopped. ....Then afterward, Sunday 9:00 to 12 midnight, I drank at least 8 oz of clear liquids each hour. ... Nothing by mouth after midnight. ...Prep was excellent! Entire colon was visualized clearly.

Colonoscopy Prep - I know people have different opinions, but for my last 5 procedures I used a sickly, sweet lemon flavored prep. This prep comes with the awful lemon… but as an option… not mixed in already. I decided to try without and was pleasantly surprised how much easier it was for me to drink a cold slightly salty water… than the lemon version.

I am VERY particular about where and when I go to the bathroom, in all of my 47 years of life this was a great experience I am far from regular which has contributed to my current condition and need for this product. My stool and last two movements where all by clear. CONFESSION I had several shots of apple juice Is that a clear liquid I'll leave that up to you to say but apple juice was the darkest ... stomach made music but I will not avoid or do anything different in 5-10 years next go around

This is not fun. 3rd colonoscopy and endoscopy. I used Sprite zero, lemon juice, and crystal light packets to prepare the solution. That's the only way I can drink it. Good luck folks.

Thought this would be "vile" or "miserable", but it was like drinking a lot of lightly salted water. I have no idea what these other folks are experiencing, maybe they had a different formula. But this stuff was easy to drink. The only challenge was consuming the volume -- but pretty reasonable for me. In fact, I actually called the pharmacist to make sure I wasn't missing something in the concoction b/c it was so simple it was dang near water. It definitely cleaned me out. That was weird. My advice for folks to avoid rubbing yourself raw -- once you are passing water (vs solids), start using a patting technique to clean and dry yourself. Otherwise, you will definitely over-scrape yourself.

First time for colonoscopy and using GaviLyte. My instructions were to drink half at 6pm then the rest at 6am for my afternoon appointment. It does have a salty taste but it's not bad. I was able to do my first half by 7:30pm as instructed. I just got me a tall glass and kept refilling till half gone. It did not make me gag or feel nauseated. After an hour, it started working. Clear yellow by 8 pm, I'm kind of hesitant about the remaining amount only bc I don't want to have diarrhea but too late for that lol. My method was to just get it down as fast as i could. Second half in the morning, wish me luck lol ??

This solution is beyond terrible, very much salty. Even holding your breath to drink it you can still smell and taste it. You’ll gag after almost every sip. I been trying to down my cup of 3 since 7pm and here it is 10:40pm. You’ll have to be a champ to down this. But it’ll have you running like a water faucet from the anus. I’ll never take this again. Straight up torture for your mental state and anus. RUN! You don’t deserve this you does better! But take it, your health is very much important. So, drinking this, It’ll only last 24 hours. Longgggg hours

My pre-colonoscopy instructions asked for two sessions, the first one drinking one 8 oz. glass of GaviLyte-G every 15 minutes until 12 glasses are consumed. And the Second session 5 hr. later, consume the remainder of the solution at the same pace until it is all consumed. I made it thru the first session just fine. Bowel movements began happening after the 8th glass was consumed. Bowel movements persisted thru the next 10 hours! End result: the stool was a very light-colored yellow. At one point I had to start wearing Depends to travel to the toilet safely, and I had to sleep with the Depends on. My sleep was interrupted three times during the night to visit the bathroom for further evacuation. During all of this my anus became very raw and sore, and I was miserable. I refused to take the remainder of the GaviLyte since my stool was as clear as it was going to get. I felt dehydrated even though I continued to drink water throughout this experience. I woke up the next morning with a very dry mouth. It was like this G-solution sucked all available water out of body and sent it to my intestines. I've had three previous colonoscopies whose prep time was unpleasant but not nearly as extreme. After this prep experience I can see why many men who have gone thru this experience would not want to repeat it again, ever.

Drinking this prep felt like a punishment for crimes I never committed. It was like drinking sweet-n-salty fake-lemon flavored handsoap, with a viscous mouthfeel that keeps you from just chugging it quickly. No, you have to linger with every disgusting gulp. My instructions were 8oz every ten minutes, the first half at 6pm the day before and second half six hours before showing up for the procedure the following day. This 10-minute spacing makes sense, in that I surely would have vomited if I’d tried to chug two liters at a time. But it also meant interacting with the pure disgustingness over and over and over. You couldn’t just power through; you had to keep on stepping up and being brave enough to drink another 8oz. At the hospital when I was checking in for the colonoscopy one of the nurses said ‘oh no, that stuff is really awful, next time ask for Miralax and Gatorade, it works just as well.’ The only positive I can say for this stuff is that it did clear me out. But I used it just as directed and still had a lot of crampy unpassed fluid inside me at the time of the procedure (7.5 hours after I finished the second half, as there was a delay at the hospital). So it wasn’t even all that amazing at doing what it was supposed to.

There seems to be a lot of drama queens leaving reviews. It just tastes like it watered down Gatorade that has a little bit of thickener added to it. The only problem I had was I used water that was too cold so after about half of it I had a bit of mild vomiting. I just waited 20 minutes and set the jug and the sun to warm up some. I was blocked up so bad I ended up in the ER and I've been shocked at how gentle this has been on my body. The people that complain about having to drink this I just don't know how they function in life if this is so horrific to them

I had a really hard time drinking this stuff. Takes like really salty peroxide. I was gagging with every glass full...gotta be an easier way. Lemon packet they give you does absolutely nothing! Awful experience for me..will never do it again!

I feel like this concoction is performing an exorcism on my bowels. I mean straight up evil intestinal gurgling sounds and I have T-minus 30 seconds to get to the toilet when it starts. I'm gagging as I drink this "lemon" flavored thick water (thick is the only way to describe it, trust me it isnt as harmless as it looks), and wondering why I did this instead of the Miralax/Docolax combo that didn't make me regret having bowels at all. I'm trying to muscle through this, but wow. My gag reflex is being tested beyond its limits, and that's saying something. Never doing this again. While quite thorough, it's got me shaking and I cannot wait to not see my toilet again. Ask your doctor for something else unless you're a masochist, then hey, get two jugs. Cheers.

This was a huge game changer for me. The taste was so much more tolerable than whatever I took the last time, it tasted like baking soda mixed with water. I had absolutely no cramping and the "active" period was shorter. I just think it can't get better than this.

This prep worked fine for me. I chilled the solution and mixed 2 cups at a time with a True Lemon lemonade packet. It tasted like mildly salty lemonade. I drank 1 cup every 20 minutes. I used a small shot glass and drank about 2-3 oz. at a time until the cup was finished. I did not get nauseous or crampy. I did the split prep, so half the night before. In the morning I forgot to mix in the lemonade packet and quickly spit out the solution...it was awful. Could not have done it without the lemonade flavoring. Hope this helps! Everyone is different. I'm 95 lbs. and dreaded all of the prep options. I would do this one again.

It’s effective, but it not only tastes disgusting, it made me sick. I vomited the last time I used this prep, and this time it was worse. Sure, I was cleared out, but there has to be a better way.

Drank 8oz every 10-15 minutes. Instructed to drink 3/4 day before, and the remaining 1/4 in the AM. I didn't have a bowel movement until I finished the 3/4 . . . four hours. Went three times, went to bed, woke up went two more times. It felt like after that, mostly water. Lemon flavor helps with the taste.
