Useless cough medicine. Made me cough more, get horrible dry mouth, restlessness,dizziness. Had better results with over the counter cough syrup.
Prescribed for a cough due to a viral cold. This cough medicine is useless. Still up coughing all night. I’ve been taking it for 3 days and I’ve had no relief. At this point I just want something to knock me out so I can get some sleep!
I have the flu so my doc prescribed me promethazine it has helped break my fever, also sleep because I haven’t been able to do that I also sweat out the fever while I was sleep
Got this medicine for a head cold that went south and had me coughing up my lungs. Works somewhat on my cough but is better clearing up stuffiness and sinus issues. Tends to cause dry mouth also.
On it for 1week helping with my cough. Sleep good at night just make me sleepy.
This stuff is absolutely awful. Prescribed to me to suppress my cough at night and instead I'm coughing non stop and have slept less than I was before. If I could give this negative stars, I would. The manufacturer is negligent for failing to warn consumers of this potential side effect.
Works great on my Covid cough. Tastes Nasty! But worth it.
Prescribed this three different times over 6 year period. Bronchitis. Doesn work for me. Right after taking i begin coughing more. I thought perhaps it is an expectorant and supposed to make cough more productive. My doctor doesn't like to prescribe codeine. He fears addiction which I appreciate; but when you are sick you need whatever it takes. I finally found relief with an inhaler (Qvar).
Sinus infection, coughing couldn't sleep much but after taking this my cough was much less and it does help me sleep much better!
did not ease my cough at all!! made it 100% worse and my doctor refuses to give me anything stronger
Was given this for my cough, it actually made it worse, not better. Was in a meeting with my boss, hacking up a lung and I did tell him, "Oh yes, I did just take some prescribed cough medicine" where everyone on the meeting replied "You might want to throw it away and ask for something else". This did NOT "break up" my mucus (which is why you would experience more coughing) this just made it worse. When I stopped taking it, I started feeling better. This is a step down from Robitussin, don't let them fool you. You are better off with Tessalon.
Fight the FLU and couldnt sleep. Doctor prescribed for me and I fell asleep. I woke up completely drenched, finally broke my fever. Took another dose the same night and woke again completely drenched. But it did help me sleep, my cough and break my fever. Would recommend if someone is fighting the FLU.
Was prescribed this for a cough because I saw a nurse practitioner and she couldn’t prescribe narcotics. This was a complete waste of time and money. I feel that NyQuil is better.
Cough due to Covid vey effective
This did not work for me. Continued to cough and could not sleep. Stopped using after 3 days and started feeling better. This med made me feel worse, not better.
Only thing that has worked for me was sick 3 weeks with upper respiratory crap last dr I saw at MD360 recommended this. I have finally had 3 full nights of sleep and feeling much better!
I have been taking this for years, I am angry because I was not prescribed Prometh VC, it has the codeine in it, and I sleep like a baby. Next time I will make sure I get the Prometh VC
I’ve had this terrible cough after having pneumonia last year. My cough had gotten so bad I didn’t wanna leave home or go to family gatherings, church, kids games, or anything. Was prescribed promethazine-DM my cough is 90% better. On the downside ive experienced weird dreams at night. I will say it works other than having those dreams
Works very well for my cold and bronchitis symptoms.
was recuperating from bronchitis with wheezing and cough going on my third week. This is the only thing that helped me. Other meds did not , I am very happy with the results.
