Soapwort

Soapwort oral suggested uses include for bronchitis, cough, and inflammation of mucous membranes in lower and upper respiratory tract. Soapwort topical suggested uses include for poison ivy, acne, psoriasis, eczema, and boils.

The only applicable part of the soapwort plant is the root. There is insufficient reliable information available on the efficacy of soapwort. More studies are needed.

Soapwort is available under the following different brand and other names: bouncing bet, crow soap, dog cloves, farewell summer, foam dock, fuller's herb, gill run by the St. Saponary, hedge pink, lady by the gate, latherwort, old maid's pink, Saponaria officinalis, soap root, sweet Betty, and wild sweet William.

• Extract: 1-2 g orally once daily OR
• Root: 1.5 g orally once daily
