What Are Side Effects Associated with Using Tradipitant?
Common side effects of tradipitant include:
- Drowsiness
- Headache
- Tiredness
Serious side effects of tradipitant include:
- Decreased Alertness or Coordination: Tradipitant can affect your alertness or coordination. Do not drive or do other activities that require alertness or coordination until you know how tradipitant affects you. This effect may be worse if you also take other medicines that cause drowsiness or strong liver enzyme (CYP3A4) inhibitors.

What Are the Dosages of Tradipitant?
Dosage Forms & Strengths
- Capsule: 85 mg
Prevention of vomiting induced by motion
Adult Dose:
- 85 mg or 170 mg taken as a single dose by mouth.
- Take the dose about 60 minutes before an activity that is expected to cause motion sickness.
- Do not take more than one dose in a 24-hour period.
- Take on an empty stomach, at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after a full meal.
Pediatric Dose:
- Safety and effectiveness in children have not been established.
What Other Drugs Interact with Tradipitant?
Tell your health care provider about all of your health conditions and any prescription or over-the-counter (OTC) medicines, vitamins/minerals, herbal products, and other supplements you are using. This will help them know if tradipitant is right for you.
Some other medicines may alter the blood levels of tradipitant. Tell your health care provider about all medicines that you take or have recently taken.

What Are Warnings and Precautions for Tradipitant?
Contraindications:
- No Known Contraindications.
Cautions:
- Liver Problems: Tradipitant should be avoided in people with any degree of liver problems (hepatic impairment).
- Kidney Problems: Tradipitant should be avoided in people with severe kidney problems (renal impairment).
Pregnancy:
- There is not enough information to know if tradipitant is safe to use during pregnancy or if it causes birth defects or miscarriage.
Lactation:
- It is not known if the medicine passes into breast milk or if it can affect a nursing baby.
