Ubrogepant is a prescription medicine used for the acute treatment of migraine attacks with or without aura in adults.

What Are Dosages of Ubrogepant?

Adult dosage

Tablet

  • 50mg
  • 100mg

Migraine

Adult dosage

  • 50-100 mg orally for acute migraine
  • If needed, may take the second dose at least 2 hours after the initial dose
  • Maximum dose: 200 mg/24 hours
  • Safety of treating more than 8 migraines/30-day period not established
  • Limitations of Use
    • Not indicated for migraine prevention

    • chloramphenicol
    • cobicistat
    • conivaptan
    • idelalisib
    • itraconazole
    • lopinavir

  • Ubrogepant has moderate interactions with at least 39 other drugs.
  • Ubrogepant has minor interactions with no other drugs.

  • BCRP and/or P-gp only inhibitors: Ubrogepant dosage reduction recommended
  • CYP3A4 inhibitors
    • Contraindicated with strong CYP3A4 inhibitors
    • Ubrogepant dosage reduction recommended if coadministered with moderate or weak CYP3A4 inhibitors
  • CYP3A4 inducers
    • Avoid coadministration with strong CYP3A4 inducers
    • Ubrogepant dosage increase recommended if coadministered with moderate or weak CYP3A4 inducers

Pregnancy and Lactation

  • Data are not available regarding the risk associated with use in pregnant women

Clinical considerations

  • Published data have suggested that women with migraine may be at increased risk of preeclampsia and gestational hypertension during pregnancy
