What Is Niferex-150?

Niferex-150 Capsules (ferrous asparto glycinate and polysaccharide iron) Complex is a dietary supplement used to treat and prevent vitamin C and iron deficiencies. Niferex-150 is available in generic form.

What Are Side Effects of Niferex-150?

Common side effects of Niferex-150 include:

  • stomach upset,
  • nausea,
  • vomiting,
  • diarrhea,
  • constipation,
  • staining of the teeth, and
  • black-colored stools

Seek medical care or call 911 at once if you have the following serious side effects:

  • Serious eye symptoms such as sudden vision loss, blurred vision, tunnel vision, eye pain or swelling, or seeing halos around lights;
  • Serious heart symptoms such as fast, irregular, or pounding heartbeats; fluttering in your chest; shortness of breath; and sudden dizziness, lightheartedness, or passing out;
  • Severe headache, confusion, slurred speech, arm or leg weakness, trouble walking, loss of coordination, feeling unsteady, very stiff muscles, high fever, profuse sweating, or tremors.

Warnings for Niferex-150

Accidental overdose of iron-containing products is a leading cause of fatal poisoning in children under 6. Keep this product out of reach of children. In case of accidental overdose, call a doctor or poison control center immediately.

Iron is best absorbed on an empty stomach; however, occasional gastrointestional discomfort (such as nausea) may be minimized by taking with meals. Iron-containing medication may occasionally cause black stools, constipation, or diarrhea, which is usually transient and self-limiting.

If pregnant or breast-feeding, ask a health professional before use.
