What Is Poly-Vi-Flor?

Poly-Vi-Flor (multivitamin, iron and fluoride supplement) is used as a supplement to the diet of infants and children who do not receive adequate fluoride through drinking water. Poly-Vi-Flor is also used to prevent tooth decay in people treated with radiation, which may cause dryness of the mouth and increased risk of tooth decay.

What Are Side Effects of Poly-Vi-Flor?

Common side effects of Poly-Vi-Flor include:

  • stomach upset,
  • nausea,
  • constipation,
  • headache, or
  • weakness.

A rare side effect of Poly-Vi-Flor is tooth discoloration, which occurs mainly with large doses or long-term use of multivitamin with fluoride. Stop using Poly-Vi-Flor and tell your dentist or doctor immediately if you notice changes in the appearance of your teeth.

Poly-Vi-Flor may cause serious side effects including:

  • hives,
  • difficulty breathing,
  • swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat, and
  • discolored teeth

Get medical help right away, if you have any of the symptoms listed above.

Seek medical care or call 911 at once if you have the following serious side effects:

  • Serious eye symptoms such as sudden vision loss, blurred vision, tunnel vision, eye pain or swelling, or seeing halos around lights;
  • Serious heart symptoms such as fast, irregular, or pounding heartbeats; fluttering in your chest; shortness of breath; and sudden dizziness, lightheartedness, or passing out;
  • Severe headache, confusion, slurred speech, arm or leg weakness, trouble walking, loss of coordination, feeling unsteady, very stiff muscles, high fever, profuse sweating, or tremors.

Dosage for Poly-Vi-Flor

The dose of Poly-Vi-Flor is 1.0 mL daily or as prescribed. It may be dropped directly into mouth with 'Safti- Dropper,' or mixed with cereal, fruit juice, or other food.

Poly-Vi-Flor may interact with other drugs or supplements. Tell your doctor all medications and supplements you use.

Poly-Vi-Flor During Pregnancy or Breastfeeding

It is unknown if Poly-Vi-Flor is harmful to a fetus. Before taking this medication, tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant during treatment. Poly-Vi-Flor can pass into breast milk and may harm a nursing baby. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding.

DROPS POLY-VI. FLOR®
MULTIVITAMIN, IRON AND FLUORIDE SUPPLEMENT

Active Ingredient for caries prophylaxis: Fluoride as sodium fluoride.

Other Ingredients: Ascorbic acid, caramel color, cholecalciferol, ferrous sulfate, fruit flavor (artificial), glycerin, niacinamide, polysorbate 80, pyridoxine hydrochloride, riboflavin-5-phosphate sodium, thiamin hydrochloride, d-alphatocopheryl acid succinate, vitamin A palmitate, water, and other ingredients.

How to Use the Enclosed Dropper

Fill the dropper to the 1 mL line to provide the full daily dosage. Use full dosage, regardless of age or weight, unless your child's doctor recommends a different dosage.

Dispense with a single squeeze.

Dosing Tips

Drops may be given by dispensing directly into the mouth. Drops may also be mixed with formula, fruit juice, cereal or other foods to increase your child's acceptance.

Shake well before use.

This product comes with a child-resistant cap. Refrigeration not required. After opening, store away from direct sunlight.
